author:Tengchong Cultural Tourism

Yellow is the brightest color in Tengchong. Every year, the 10,000 acres of rape flowers under Gaoligong Mountain will bloom as scheduled, and the overwhelming yellow color reflects the year-round white snow on the top of Gaoligong Mountain, which is breathtakingly beautiful. In late autumn, the ancient ginkgo trees in Jiangdong Ginkgo Village shed their golden coats, the eaves of farmhouses, volcanic stones are walled, and the cobblestone paths are paved with thick fallen leaves, and the beautiful and dreamy golden yellow, like a warm dream, attracts tourists from all directions.

Yellow is the brilliant color of the ancient capital of Myanmar that jumps in the sun. It may be hard to believe that the palace of the Burmese dynasty was built according to the appearance of Tengchong City. This is another legendary story of Tengchong, Yin Rong, a patriotic overseas Chinese leader who worked hard in a foreign country, not only exchanged sweat for wealth, but also won the trust of the King of Burma with his wisdom and character, and was respected as a national teacher. In 1853, the King of Burma decided to move the capital to Mandalay and appointed Yin Rong to supervise the construction of the palace, Yin Rong thought of the strong, beautiful, Tengchong Stone City that Xu Xiake praised as "nothing in the west", so he modeled on Tengchong City to design the imperial city for the King of Burma, and invited many craftsmen from China to supervise the construction of a splendid and magnificent palace, unfortunately, both the stone city of Tengchong and the royal palace of Burma were destroyed in the war and disappeared.

Yellow is the glow of the finest amber buried deep in the ground. "Amber Arch Jade Bridge" is the pride of Tengchong people for hundreds of years, and still in some rural places, there are still people who believe in the long-standing legend, saying that there is an amber arch in Tengchong City, and people wearing straw shoes will be sucked up and hung upside down from below. This is just a legend, but it tells the origin of Tengchong and Amber. From the history books, it can be seen that amber was once a specialty of Tengyue in history. There are many kinds of amber, but the overall yellow is mainly yellow, pure yellow is lapper, light yellow is honey, water yellow is goose oil perch, red through yellow is golden perch, apricot yellow is apricot perk. In the past, most of the amber produced by the fierce arch was transported to Tengchong for processing, making Tengchong famous for a long time. In the 1930s, the British MEDF entered Tengchong from Myanmar, visited the amber factory in Tengchong, and also recorded in detail the production of amber products by local workshops, and admired and praised the skills of the workers. Nowadays, in Tengchong City, the amber industry has risen vigorously, and formed a "Amber Street" where foreign businessmen gather, every day there are 300 or 400 Burmese businessmen going back and forth to Tengchong to sell amber, in 2014 Tengchong amber trading volume reached 2 billion yuan, has become the country's largest amber trading market, "Amber Arch Jade Bridge" Legend is being revived.

In Tengchong, I can feel a strong cultural atmosphere and spiritual resonance, I deeply love this land, and I also deeply love the spiritual spark bred by this land. In every inch of Tengchong's land, you can feel the color of youth, listen to the strong pulse of youth, and feel the strong soul of the city. Every city must have a soul. What is Tengchong's soul? The answer may lie in the vast river of years, in the beautiful scenery of the four o'clock change, in the generations of people who are struggling for a better tomorrow.
