On January 19, the Aviation Ranger Station of the Provincial Emergency Management Department carried out a forest aviation fire drill at Lusong Airport in Zhuzhou to improve the ability of forest fire prevention in the air.

With the Spring Festival approaching, activities such as fireworks and firecrackers, sacrifices and blessings have increased, it is difficult to control wildland fire sources, and forest fires are prone to occur frequently. The forest aviation fire drill simulated a sudden forest fire in a mountainous area, the fixed-wing aircraft found the fire during the inspection and transmitted the reconnaissance situation back to the ground, the duty room after research and judgment, quickly dispatched helicopters to the scene to extinguish the fire, arranged UAV reinforcements, carried out fire reconnaissance, disaster assessment.

The Provincial Emergency Management Department deploys helicopters and drones in key areas such as Hengyang, Zhuzhou, and Yongzhou to prepare for forest fire prevention. Last year, the helicopters of the Aviation Ranger Station of the Provincial Emergency Management Department flew a total of 280 sorties for 424 hours, found and participated in the disposal of 6 fires, 7 illegal fires, 8 fire extinguishing heads, 20 fire points, and 23 smoke points, which played an important role in the province's forest fire prevention and extinguishing work.
