After the success of "Squid Games", "Hellhound" and six other Korean dramas, Netflix will increase its investment in Korean content in 2022, releasing 25 Korean film and television shows, including movies and web dramas, as well as variety reality shows, making South Korea the country with the largest investment by Netflix.

Netflix said it invested more than $5 billion in Korean content in 2021, producing and distributing a total of 15 Original Korean titles. The viewership of Korean programs on its platform has increased sixfold from 2019. "Squid Games" became a global hit and was Netflix's highest-rated show ever. In addition to the squid game, the dark fantasy series Hellhound ranked first in the 34 countries and regions on Netflix. The sci-fi suspense film "Silent Sea" also topped the weekly top ten list of non-English dramas.
