The President of Russia and Iran met to discuss bilateral cooperation and other issues

Moscow, 19 Jan (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin and visiting Iranian President Lehi held a meeting in Moscow on 19 January to discuss bilateral cooperation and a series of international and regional hotspot issues.

According to the kremlin website, Putin said that Russia and Iran are implementing a number of major projects and cooperating in many fields. Through this meeting, the Russian side hopes to understand Iran's position on Afghanistan and the Iranian nuclear agreement. Lehi said that Iran is willing to develop stable and comprehensive relations with Russia. In opposing the unilateral actions of Western countries, including the United States, Iran and Russia can strengthen cooperation. (End)
