Let the Vocational Education Forum become an "accelerator" for school development

Recently, the author's unit held the first vocational education forum on campus. 20 teachers from 9 professional teaching and research groups appeared on the stage in turn, or gave lectures or made keynote speeches, sharing their respective vocational education stories, vocational education feelings and vocational education concepts to all teachers of the school, showing the collective wisdom of the professional team and showing the beautiful style of vocational teachers.

Although it was the first time that the Vocational Education Forum was held, the Vocational Education Forum presented a good start in three aspects.

This is a high-quality school-based teaching and research activity. "To teach without study is shallow, and to study without teaching is to be virtual." Classrooms cannot be lost, students cannot be lost, and majors cannot be lost. The profession of secondary vocational teachers must be based on the student, based on the fundamental teaching.

The vocational education forum was held in the form of a conference, the density was high, the number of dry goods, grasping the principle of teaching and research activities as teaching services, placing the daily teaching and research activities of the professional teaching and research group at the school level, enlarging the details, presenting the advantages, exposing the problems, igniting the reflection, vividly interpreting the soul of school-based teaching and research, promoting mutual reference, exchange and learning among teachers, which is a successful, high-quality school-based teaching and research activity.

This is a feast for vocational education to emancipate the mind. Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the state has issued a series of documents from the top to support the accelerated development of modern vocational education, and the National Vocational Education Conference was held in 2014 and 2021. At present, vocational education has entered a new stage of reform and development, and promoting the high-quality development of vocational education has become a new theme of vocational education reform. The action plan for improving the quality and training of vocational colleges and universities and the construction of vocational education highlands in Gansu have pushed vocational education to the forefront of reform.

In the new era, new propositions, secondary vocational schools should have new deeds. Along this direction, the participating teachers' lectures and keynote speeches, their ideas are clear, the theme is prominent, the atmosphere is generous, whether it is the sharing of class management experience, or the interpretation and prospect of their respective professional development, they all have a good grasp of the background of vocational education reform, the policy and reality are well integrated, inheriting and innovating the spirit of vocational education in the new era, and condensing consensus and convergence into synergy for promoting the reform of vocational education in schools.

This is a review of the level of professional team building. The development of professional construction in secondary vocational schools in the new era needs to further strengthen the team building of professional teachers. In fact, any education is aimed at cultivating people. A complete person, composed of mind, thought, value, ability, skill, etc., is like a complete car, if the various parts are taken apart, it cannot be galloped on the road. At present, whether it is a student skills competition or a teacher teaching ability competition, all of them reflect the strength of professional teacher teams. The individual lectures or keynote speeches of individual teachers in the vocational education forum are derived from the consensus reached by the professional teaching and research team and represent the level of the professional team.

Objectively speaking, the first time to hold a vocational education forum, its experience is insufficient, and the program is not mature enough. But on the whole, most of the teachers are quite powerful, whether it is a lecture or a keynote speech, flexible and rigorous, meticulous and meticulous, deep, connotative, targeted, constructive and strong, showing a good professional quality.

Despite its many shortcomings, it is precisely "experience that comes from reflection". Within secondary vocational schools, the vocational education forum is the only activity in school education and teaching work, but at a deeper level, it should become a "power cabin" to enhance the further development of schools and an "accelerator" to promote the professional growth and development of secondary vocational teachers.

Based on this, we pondered: Can the vocational education forum be fixed as an activity (or even a system) of the school, held regularly and regularly? Can the famous teachers and famous class teachers of the school be further built and promoted, and then promoted to the whole city, even the province and the whole country? Can we give the vocational education forum more forms, such as classroom observation, skill competition, and work display? Can it be held in a more open manner, and invite the leaders of education administrative departments, people's social security, women's federations, trade unions, rural revitalization bureaus, enterprises, industry representatives, as well as vocational education alliances, vocational education group member units, and sister colleges and universities to support and participate? Expanding horizons, enhancing exchanges, strengthening integration, generating momentum, and achieving visions should all be the values of the existence and development of the Secondary Vocational Education Forum.
