The Sixth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was an extremely important meeting held at a major historical juncture when the Party led the people to achieve the goal of the first centenary struggle and marched toward the realization of the goal of the second centenary struggle on the occasion of the centenary anniversary of the founding of our Party. In order to study and implement the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Youth League Committee of the Autonomous Region launched a column entitled "Spiritual Genealogy of Communists" to let us feel the power of truth from the extraordinary course of the Party.
An ordinary soldier, a noble soul. Since joining the Red Army in 1933, Zhang Side has obeyed the interests of the party and the people, doing whatever the party tells him to do, working selflessly in ordinary posts until he is honorably martyred. He used his short but brilliant life to profoundly interpret the fundamental purpose of our party to serve the people wholeheartedly, forged the spirit of Zhang Side, and set an example for the whole party and the whole army.
The connotation of Zhang Side's spirit
Born in 1915 in Yilong County, Sichuan Province, Zhang Side was wounded through the Long March, grew into a strong Red Army soldier in the smoke of gunfire, and joined the Communist Party of China in 1937. On September 5, 1944, when he led his commando comrades into the mountains to dig a new kiln in Ansai County, northern Shaanxi, he died because the charcoal kiln collapsed, and he sacrificed his life at the age of 29. After Zhang Side joined the revolution, he played an exemplary and leading role everywhere, not afraid of suffering, not afraid of tiredness, and wherever he was the most bitter and tired, he appeared wherever he was. The revolution needed him to open up the land and cultivate the land, so he took up the pickaxe and exchanged his sweat for grain; the revolution needed him to burn charcoal, and he produced good charcoal with his comrades; the revolution needed him to be the squad leader, and he led the whole class into a fighting collective that could withstand the test; the revolution needed him to be a fighter, and he gladly accepted the organizational arrangements and conscientiously did every job well... "Whatever work is done for the party and for the interests of the people" Is Zhang Side's unchanging belief and is also a vivid portrayal of his life.
The significance of the times of Zhang Side's spirit
The ordinary makes great. On September 8, 1944, more than 1,000 people directly under the Central Committee and the Central Guard Corps held a memorial service for Zhang Side on the playground at the mouth of Zaoyuangou under the Phoenix Mountain in Yan'an. Comrade Mao Zedong personally attended the memorial service, personally inscribed an elegy entitled "Tribute to Comrade Zhang Side who sacrificed his life for the interests of the people," and delivered a famous speech entitled "Serving the People," which highly praised Zhang Side's lofty realm and incisively summed up Zhang Side's spirit: "Our Communist Party and the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army led by the Communist Party are the contingent of the revolution. Our contingent is entirely for the liberation of the people and is thoroughly working for the interests of the people. Comrade Zhang Side is a comrade in our ranks. "To die for the interests of the people is heavier than Tarzan; to die for the fascists, to die for those who exploit and oppress the people, is lighter than the feathers." Comrade Zhang Side died for the interests of the people, and his death was heavier than Taishan. The spirit of Zhang Side, with "serving the people" as the core, is our precious spiritual wealth and an important part of the spiritual genealogy of Chinese communists.
