On the evening of May 17, the Chinese Football Association announced the latest training and competition list of the women's national football team on its official website, which is also the first "point general" after Australian coach Milicic took office.

There are a total of 27 people in this list, of which the Wuhan team, which is currently ranked second in the Women's Super League, is a "big international player", with Yao Wei, Wu Haiyan, Zhang Linyan, Liu Yanqiu, and Zhao Yuxin 5 people selected. Jiangsu Women's Football Team (Xu Huan, Dou Jiaxing, Ou Yiyao), Beijing Women's Football Team (Wang Shanshan, Pan Hongyan, Wang Yanwen), and Guangdong Women's Football Team (Chen Qiaozhu, Peng Shimeng, Yuan Cong) each have 3 people selected. The Shanghai team (Zhang Xin, Yang Lina) and the Changchun team (Liu Jing, Gao Chen), who topped the Women's Super League rankings, each had two selected. In addition, Zhang Rui, a veteran of the Henan team, and Liu Chen, the U20 goalkeeper of the Shandong team, are also on the list. In terms of overseas players, Wang Shuang and Li Mengwen who played in the Premier League, Shen Mengyu and Shen Menglu who played for the Celtics of the Soviet Super League, Wu Chengshu of the French Dijon Women's Football Team, Tang Jiali of La Liga Levantes Granas, and Uri Gumula of the Central Coast Mariners of the Australian Super League were selected.

Compared with the squad for last year's Women's World Cup, the new coach Milicic has not changed much for the first time. The return of Tang Jiali and Peng Shimeng is relatively noteworthy. The former scored for the Australian women's football team in the Tokyo Olympics qualifiers in January 2020, when Milicic was the head coach of the Australian team. The latter was the main goalkeeper of the Chinese women's football team at the 2019 Women's World Cup and the Tokyo Olympics.

The Football Association also said in the announcement that the Chinese women's football team will train at the Xianghe National Football Training Base from May 19 to May 26, 2024, and go to Australia to participate in the invitational tournament from May 27 to June 5. According to the arrangement, the Chinese team will play two matches against the Australian team, on May 31 and June 3.
