Recently, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology organized experts to accept the rescue excavation project of the Yuan Dynasty village site of the South House and the Han Dynasty children's tomb group that cooperated with the capital construction of the "Huang into Dai Emergency Water Replenishment Project".
The two sites of the "Southern House Yuan Dynasty Village Ruins" and the Han Dynasty "Twin Ancient City Ruins" are located on the narrow east-west traffic artery between the north and south mountains of the Barbarian Han Mountains, and are adjacent to the Daihai Sea, surrounded by mountains and rivers, indicating the importance of transportation and water sources to ancient human life.
The rescue excavation project of the Yuan Dynasty village site of Nanzhu began excavation in early July this year, lasted three months, and has now been basically completed. A large number of ceramic pieces from the Liao-Jinyuan period have been excavated at the site, as well as some fragments of copper mirrors, copper jewelry and copper coins. At the bottom of the excavated porcelain bowl, there are many written Chinese characters with the surname "Xiang", indicating that many people living here at that time had the surname "Xiang", and these porcelains were daily utensils in their lives.
The rescue excavation project of the Han Dynasty Children's Tomb Group in the Shuangcheng City is located outside the city wall of the Han Dynasty "Twin Ancient City Ruins" (known as "Woyang City" in the Western Han Dynasty) 10 kilometers west of the Yuan Dynasty ruins of the South House, and is a group of children's tombs with a relatively concentrated concentration in the Western Han Dynasty. Only two han dynasty children's tombs have been found in central and southern Inner Mongolia on such a large scale, with the other in Tuchengzi, Helin County. This excavation provides valuable physical materials for understanding the han dynasty children's burial system in the region.
