The "Future War Science Fiction" essay contest was launched

Recently, under the guidance of the China Science Fiction Research Center and the Science Fiction Committee of the China Science Popularization Writers Association, and sponsored by the Beijing Institute of Aerospace Intelligence and Information, the "Future War Science Fiction" Essay Contest (hereinafter referred to as the "Competition") was officially launched. The contest focuses on the wars that may break out of mankind in the era of intelligence, predicts national defense science and technology, conceives war scenes, designs war plots, imagines new ways, new means, and new forms of "cautious war and non-offensive" and "stops fighting for war", and explores the concept of war violence, ethics, morality, victory and defeat, and time and space in the future of mankind.

According to the relevant person in charge of the competition, the content of the contest essay pays attention to predicting the future trend of national defense science and technology, studying the role and impact of the scientific and technological revolution on the military revolution; it meets the basic requirements of hard-core science fiction and embodies the Chinese characteristics of war science fiction; and at the same time, it is also necessary to carry forward the traditional military wisdom of the Chinese nation, which is different from the hegemonic concept of war. The directions of the solicitation include, but are not limited to, intelligent war form prediction, future war and maritime security, future war and space security, future war and cyberspace security, future war and nuclear security, future war and social security, and future war and major power conflicts.

It is understood that the literary genre of the "Future War Science Fiction" essay contest is limited to short and medium stories, and the competition has a short story group (2000-10000 words) and a novella group (10000-60000 words). Works should be based on physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, psychology, medicine and other sciences, depicting the impact of new technologies and inventions in the future on future wars. There are 3 first prizes, 10 second prizes and several third prizes in each group of this essay contest. Winners receive prize money and honorary certificates based on the award. For particularly outstanding works, a special prize will be set up, and the prize will not be less than 50,000 yuan.
