In the past two years, OPPO, Xiaomi, Huawei, and Glory major mobile phone brands have successively released their own folding screen mobile phones, and only vivo has not yet entered the game. Industry sources said that Vivo will launch its own folding screen mobile phone in the first quarter of 2022.

Judging from the current market situation, the brands are still in a state of wait-and-see testing for folding screen mobile phones, and the first batch of supplies is not much.

Honor's first folding screen Magic V was first sold at 10:08 on January 18, and the online supply was sold out on the day of sale, and the next rush was on January 25, and a reminder of "limited time sale" was set.

According to media reports, offline stores get very little goods. When the IT Times reporter visited the Glory offline store, the clerk said that "there is only one spot mobile phone, the inventory is very limited, and it has been ordered in advance by customers." At ten o'clock in the morning, the only glory Magic V in the store was officially handed over to the customer, and the clerk sent flowers to the customer and took a group photo.

Other brands of folding screen phones are in a similar situation. Some store clerks said that when the Huawei P50 Pocket went on sale, the store only got five or six units, and the OPPO Find N only had a few to a dozen units, and it could be sold out almost.

In the state of shortage of supply, folding screen mobile phones are highly sought after in the second-hand market. The official price of Honor Magic V is 9999 yuan, and the quotations on idle fish are mostly around 13000 yuan, and on the Jingdong platform, some have been speculated to 15999 yuan.

Even if the premium is as high as 3,000-4,000 yuan, there are still consumers who are willing to pay. Some sellers on Idle Fish said that the Glory Magic V spot has been sold out, and the purchase needs to leave a message to wait.

In addition to Honor, OPPO Find N and Huawei P50 Pocket also showed a certain premium, with an increase of about 500-1000 yuan.

There are also some idle fish sellers who use plug-in software to provide proxy shooting services. The price of the honor Magic V generation auction is 99 yuan, and the price of oppo Find N generation auction is relatively large, and the highest speculation is 200 yuan. But a contemporary seller of Honor and OPPO told Times Finance that in his store, Honor is more popular.

However, not all folding screen mobile phones have been snapped up, and the price of the MIX Fold released by Xiaomi in March last year has not risen but has fallen. At the time of the first launch, the basic price was 9999 yuan, and the 12+512GB version was priced at 10999 yuan. After less than a year, the Xiaomi official mall reduced the price of the 12+512GB version to 6999 yuan, which was 4,000 yuan lower than the initial price.

The price of the second-hand market is lower, the price of the 99 new mobile phone is only 4500 yuan, less than half of the original price, and the new price is only about 5800 yuan.

As Xiaomi's first folding screen mobile phone, the MIX Fold has a "test product" feeling. First of all, the appearance is not as exquisite as other folding screens, and some consumers complain, "like an air conditioner remote control"; the crease is also more obvious, and it can be seen from the photos posted by consumers that there is a relatively wide trace in the middle of the mobile phone screen. Judging from the sales situation, the Xiaomi MIX Fold is not as popular as other brands. At present, the Xiaomi MIX Fold can still be purchased normally online, and the official flagship store of Taobao shows a rating of 2000+, and the Jingdong flagship store is evaluated at 10000+. The OPPO Find N, which was only released in December, also reached 10,000+ in the Jingdong flagship store.

Overall, although the folding screen mobile phones of major brands are popular in the second-hand market, the actual consumers are still not many.

Times Finance has learned that the thickness of the fuselage and the excessive cost of screen maintenance are the reasons for consumers' hesitation. Some consumers are also doubting whether the vertical folding screen mobile phone is a pseudo-demand: "The horizontal fold can also be understood, and the spread can be used as a tablet, and it is convenient to watch videos." But what about vertical folds? In addition to being easy to carry, it seems that no other use can be thought of. ”
