On January 17, the Red Cross Society of Dawu County, Hubei Province, visited Xuanhuadian Town to pay respects to the relatives, volunteer blood donation volunteers, and families in difficulty of Sun Gongli, the "blood donation king" of Xiaogan City, and sent the care of the party and the government to the homes of the grass-roots masses.
On the same day, the county Red Cross Society, Xuanhuadian town and village cadres and volunteers visited and comforted the relatives of Sun Gongli, the former "blood donation king" of Xiaogan City, and sent condolence money and "fraternity to send ten thousand family packages".
Sun Gongli was enthusiastic about public welfare activities before his death, he worked in Guangdong, in 1996, he walked on the blood collection truck for the first time, for 20 years, no matter where he was, he would regularly volunteer to donate blood, and organized Huangzhan, Fengdian, Hekou, Lüwang, Dongxin, Daxin, Sanli and other townships to participate in unpaid blood donation, in the past three years, Sun Gongli recruited more than 3,000 unpaid blood donors, with a total blood donation of more than 1.05 million ml. In 2020, Sun Gongli died unexpectedly. The younger brother Sun Gongjun resolutely carried the banner of his brother's free blood donation and continued to devote himself to social welfare undertakings. In response to Sun Gongli's family difficulties, the county Red Cross Society contacted the county and township civil affairs departments to apply for a rural minimum guarantee for his 82-year-old mother, Wan Guoying.
The county Red Cross Society carries forward the Red Cross spirit of "humanity, fraternity and dedication" and gives play to the role of the Red Cross Society as an assistant to the party and the government in the humanitarian field. In early January, the Red Cross Society of Dawu County successively organized 11 community Red Cross service stations, 5 villagers' committees, and a total of more than 50 volunteers to sink to the front line to carry out the activity of "fraternity and love to send ten thousand family packages" to send love, love and warmth to the hearts of the people.
