Beijing News Shell Financial News (reporter Wang Linlin) On January 20, Li Yizhong, former minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and president of the China Federation of Industrial Economics, said at the 17th SuperCar Forum of "Intelligent Driving • Carbon New" that improving the economy of fuel vehicles is still an important means to reduce carbon emissions in recent years.

The forum was jointly sponsored by Beijing News Shell Finance and Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, and jointly supported by the Automotive Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Beijing High-level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone Work Office.

Li Yizhong said that in 2019, the mainland's carbon dioxide emissions reached 10 billion tons, accounting for 30% of the world, an increase of about 1.5%, of which the annual carbon dioxide emissions of road transportation were about 750 million tons, accounting for 7% of all emissions; the continent's carbon peak, carbon neutrality responsibility is heavy and the task is arduous. Specific to the automobile industry, he said that from the three aspects of automobile manufacturing, automobile use process, automobile scrap dismantling and recycling process to measure, a large amount of carbon dioxide will be generated in the whole life cycle of the automobile, which further strengthens our determination to reduce carbon emissions, and it is necessary to fully implement various carbon emission reduction measures.

From the data point of view, in 2020, the number of cars in the mainland is 281 million, of which only 4.92 million are new energy vehicles, fuel vehicles account for 98.2% of the car ownership, and the total consumption of gasoline and diesel is about 260 million tons. Li Yizhong said that if during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, fuel vehicles in the case of further improving the energy-saving technology of automobiles and the quality of gasoline and diesel, if the fuel consumption drops by 1%, the same caliber can save 2.6 million tons of fuel, correspondingly reducing 7.5 million tons.

Li Yizhong said that according to the forecast, by 2030, fuel vehicles will still account for 80% of the mainland's car ownership, so reducing the fuel consumption of fuel vehicles cannot be relaxed at all.
