Gili Regev-Yochay, head of infectious diseases at Israel's Sheba Medical Center, said on Monday (January 17) local time that the authorities had conducted drug tests on the most common vaccine types, Pfizer and Modena.
154 volunteers received the 4th dose of Pfizer and 120 volunteers received the 4th dose of Modena. Authorities use the level of the combined antibody in the vaccinated person as a criterion for assessing the effectiveness of the vaccine. Unfortunately, experts say it is difficult to immunize Omicron with current vaccine levels. Next, they will fully develop a vaccine against Omicron and overcome today's medical problems.

The Philippines added 37,070 confirmed cases yesterday
Active cases hit a record high for six consecutive days
On January 17, the Philippines added 37,070 new confirmed cases, a total of 3,242,374 cases, breaking 3.24 million.
Since the eight days on the 8th of this month, the Philippines has reached a record six new confirmed cases. Yesterday was the second consecutive day since 16 January, when new cases fell.
Driven by the ultra-high number of new cases, the number of active patients in the Philippines rose from 287,856 the previous day to 290,938, a record high for six consecutive days. Active cases account for 9% of total cases.
Of the 290,938 active cases, 3.2% were asymptomatic, 95.2% were mild, 1.0% moderate, 0.5% were severe and 0.1% were critically ill; and the total number of severe cases and cases was 0.6%, equal to that in Malaysia.
Authorities said the positive test rate on Jan. 15 dropped to 46.0 percent from 47.4 percent the day before, meaning 46 people were confirmed for every 100 people tested. The highest positive rate was on January 11, at 47.9 percent.
The higher the positive rate, the more latent cases there are in the community. The Guiding Principle of the World Health Organization is that the positivity rate is controlled below 5% for the community to be open.
The Philippines reported 23 deaths yesterday, bringing the total to 52,929. Authorities noted that of the 23 deaths, 20 occurred this month and the rest before this year. The reason why the death data is seriously lagging is because of a problem with the system code.
