The Municipal Health Commission informed this morning (20th): At 0-24:00 on January 19, 2022, 14 new confirmed cases of imported new coronary pneumonia were reported through the joint prevention and control mechanism at ports. There were 16 new cured and discharged cases, including 6 cases from the United States, 2 cases from the United Kingdom, 1 case from Equatorial Guinea, 1 case from Cameroon, 1 case from Denmark, 1 case from Nigeria, 1 case from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), 1 case from Ghana, 1 case from Canada, and 1 case from France.

Case 1, a Chinese national living in the United States, departed from the United States and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 9 January 2022, where he was placed under centralized isolation and observation after entering customs, during which he developed symptoms. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

Case 2, a Chinese national living in the United States, departed from the United States and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 13 January 2022, where he was placed under centralized isolation and observation after entering customs, during which he developed symptoms. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

Case 3, a US national living in the United States, departed from the United States, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 13 January 2022, and was placed under centralized isolation and observation after entering customs, during which he developed symptoms. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

Cases 4 and 5, both Chinese nationals, working in Russia, departed from Russia and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 14 January 2022, where they were placed under centralized isolation and observation after entering customs, during which they developed symptoms. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

Case 6, a Chinese national who studied in the United States and departed from the United States, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 15 January 2022 and was placed under centralized isolation and observation after entering customs, during which he developed symptoms. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

Case 7, a French national, visited relatives in France, departed from France, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 3 January 2022, and was placed under centralized quarantine and observation after entering customs. Symptoms developed during subsequent health surveillance, and the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention tested positive for covid-19 nucleic acid. After consultation with the municipal expert group, the diagnosis was confirmed as a confirmed case based on the comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging results.

Cases 8 and 9 are both Chinese nationals, Case 8 traveled in Germany and departed from Germany, Case 9 worked in Jamaica, departed from Jamaica, transited through Dominia and Germany, and Case 8 and Case 9 took the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 16 January 2022, and were placed under centralized isolation and observation after entering customs, during which they developed symptoms. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

Case 10, a Japanese national working in Japan, departed from Japan and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 16 January 2022, where he was placed under centralized quarantine and observation after entering customs, during which he developed symptoms. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

Case 11 is a resident of Taiwan, visited relatives in Taiwan, departed from Taiwan, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 17 January 2022, and was sent to a designated medical institution for isolation and observation after entering customs because of symptoms. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

Case 12 is of French nationality, cases 13 and 14 are both Chinese nationals, Case 12 visited relatives in France and departed from France, Case 13 studied in France and departed from France, Case 14 worked in France and departed from France, cases 12-14 took the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 17 January 2022. Case 12 was sent to a designated medical institution for isolation and observation after entering the customs because of symptoms; cases 13 and 14 were placed under centralized isolation and observation after entering the customs, during which symptoms appeared. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

14 imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 182 close contacts of the same flight have been traced, and centralized isolation and observation have been implemented.

At 0-24:00 on January 19, 2022, there were no new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia.

As of 24:00 on January 19, 2022, the cumulative number of imported confirmed cases was 3,193, 2,728 were discharged from hospital, and 465 cases were treated in hospital. There are currently 10 suspected cases to be investigated.

As of 24:00 on January 19, 2022, the cumulative number of local confirmed cases was 390, 381 cases were cured and discharged from hospital, 2 cases were treated in hospital, and 7 cases died. There are currently 0 suspected cases to be investigated.

As of 24:00 on January 19, 2022, there were 25 asymptomatic infected people under medical observation, including 5 cases of imported asymptomatic infection abroad and 20 cases of local asymptomatic infection.
