Maraque Blake, the current AEW wrestling star, won the NXT title in 2018.
The AEW Dark Sect Leader recently talked about his time at NXT, where he felt that NXT was very rare in any era.
"You know, I always talk to people about NXT."
"There was a moment when we did a PPV and HHH came in and he said, guys, we did it, we made over a million dollars," Blake said. ”
"We were all looking around and we were very proud."
"I feel like we're an era of NXT, unlike any other era, and that's in no way a criticism of anyone else at NXT, especially the people before us, because we're able to do that because of them."
"You know, they've helped the brand grow to the point where we can take a step forward and take it a step further, and NXT has a legacy."
The Dark Master attributes the uniqueness of NXT's era to the competition and support of the wrestlers in the locker room on the roster.
"The NXT at that time had Adam Cole, Champa, Gagano, War Commandos, we were in a dressing room and we were competing with each other every night, but we were also very supportive of each other," Blake said.
"For me, NXT was an irreplaceable time in my life when we knew we were doing something unique, and I think we were the most revolutionary shows for those years."
