An elderly Woman of Chinese Descent in New York was injured by a car and died a month later

According to the "World Journal" in the United States, a car accident occurred in Manhattan Chinatown, New York, at the end of last year, when a small school bus hit and injured an elderly Chinese who was nearly seventy years old when turning. Police said on January 18 that the injured person died of nearly a month of treatment in the hospital and died of his injuries on the 16th.

Police said the case occurred at around 1:51 p.m. on December 16, 2021, at the intersection of Jiaomenroe Street on Catherine Street in Chinatown, when a school bus turned right and knocked down Ms. Liu, a 67-year-old Chinese elderly man who was crossing the street, and the victim was subsequently swept under the car.

The fifth sub-bureau of the municipal police and the emergency rescue team rushed to the scene, and Ms. Liu was seriously injured at the scene and was in critical condition after being sent to The Wei Hospital.

The case was later referred to the Municipal Police Highway Investigation Team for investigation by the Municipal Police Fifth Sub-Bureau, and the driver who caused the accident was 63 years old and worked for the Browns Shelby Transport Company. Police said he remained at the scene after the crime and is not currently being charged. (Zhang Chen)
