On January 18, 2022, the China-ASEAN Center and the International Confucian Federation jointly held the 2022 Hehe New Year Concert and the Hehe New Year Celebration Group Exhibition at the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Representatives from embassies in China from Japan, the Republic of Korea and ASEAN countries attended the event.
Jia Deyong, secretary general of the International Confucian Federation, said in his opening speech that the concept of "harmony" originates from the East and is the essence of the Chinese humanistic spirit. In the nearly 30 years since its establishment, the International Confucian Federation has always been committed to being the inheritor of Confucianism and excellent traditional culture, the defender of the diversity of world civilizations, and the practitioner of dialogue among different civilizations.
Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of the China-ASEAN Center, said in his speech that 2022 is the 25th anniversary of the launch of ASEAN-China-Japan-ROK cooperation. China-ASEAN is willing to work hand in hand with friends from all walks of life to continue to play an active role in the 10 years since the establishment of the center, promote social and people-to-people exchanges between the two sides, build a solid foundation for friendly cooperation, and contribute to the lasting prosperity and stability of East Asia.
At the concert, the artists of the Central Chinese Orchestra performed classic repertoire from China and ASEAN countries, showing the friendship between China and ASEAN countries. The guests also visited the Spring Festival Group Exhibition and felt the strong New Year atmosphere.
