Nearly 100,000 kilometers of gas pipelines in China have experienced different degrees of aging

Beijing, January 20 (China Youth Daily, China Youth Daily reporter Zhao Limei) Gas safety is related to thousands of households and people's livelihood plans. Today, at the press conference of the Ministry of Emergency Management, Su Jie, director of the Department of Safety Coordination of the Ministry of Emergency Management, said that according to preliminary statistics, there are now nearly 100,000 kilometers of pipelines in the country that have different degrees of aging, coupled with the relatively low construction standards at that time, daily maintenance, maintenance, and update are not timely.

Su Jie introduced that in recent years, the scale of urban gas use in the country has grown rapidly, and the current national gas use population has exceeded 667 million people, and the penetration rate of urban gas use in the country has reached 97.87%. At the same time, gas safety risks are becoming increasingly prominent. Last year, gas accidents occurred in many areas. Su Jie said that the causes of these accidents are: first, the gas pipeline leaks, perennial corrosion leads to explosions; second, the construction of third-party destruction; third, improper use of gas. "Of course, this is the apparent direct cause."

Su Jie also pointed out that the problem of combing these accidents is mainly concentrated in two aspects: First, it reflects that the current gas safety accidents have entered the stage of multiple and frequent occurrences. Continental Gas has entered a period of large-scale use, and most of the pipelines used are built 20 years ago, and the pipelines are aging and old, including the continuous expansion of new construction, which is the biggest challenge we face.

In the second aspect, there are still some deep-seated problems in the investigation, especially the exposure of some regions, departments and enterprises and institutions in the implementation of the main responsibility for gas safety there is still a big gap, especially after some local gas business licenses are delegated to the grass-roots level, the corresponding regulatory strength, supervision and law enforcement capabilities have not been adapted to it, law enforcement is "loose and soft", strict and not implemented in different degrees in various places.

In this regard, the Ministry of Emergency Management, together with the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and other departments, has studied and formulated the "National Urban Gas Safety Investigation and Rectification Work Plan". Focusing on some of the problems exposed by recent gas accidents, we will focus on rectifying six major risks and safety hazards:

The first is to rectify the major safety risks and hidden dangers in the gas operation link; the second is to rectify the major risks and hidden dangers focusing on public places such as catering; the third is to rectify the safety risks and major hidden dangers existing in some old communities; the fourth is to investigate the major safety hazards in the construction of gas projects; the fifth is to rectify the safety hazards in the construction of gas pipelines and facilities; the sixth is to rectify the safety hazards in gas stoves, including hoses, joints, alarms, etc., that do not meet the current requirements, or the quality does not meet the requirements. It is easy to produce leakage, aging, etc. for remediation.
