In 1977, her husband Li Bingyun went to his wife Zhou Jiyu's factory to study, and Shapingba in Chongqing became the place where the two met for the first time. Seeing that Li Bingyun was young and handsome, Zhou Jiyu was moved, took the initiative to put down his body, and talked to Li Bingyun. Li Bingyun also felt that she was kind and beautiful, plus both of them were deaf and mute, so they got closer and closer.

Unexpectedly, when the parents learned that Li Bingyun was 14 years older than their daughter, they vigorously opposed the marriage, believing that the man was so much older and deaf and mute, and it was a shame to be known by relatives and neighbors. But the opposition of her family did not make Zhou Jiyu flinch, and she bravely hid from her parents and went to get a marriage license with Li Bingyun.
