According to Jason Anderson, a reporter for the Sacramento Bee, the Kings are willing to discuss a deal with back guard Darlon Fox before the deadline, and are already discussing a deal to trade Fox for Sabonis Jr.
In addition, the Kings are in talks with the 76ers about a ben-Simmons deal, and they tried to pursue Simmons last summer but were reluctant to include Fox at the time.
Last season, Fox averaged 25.2 points and 7.2 assists per game, both career-highs, but this season, his performance slipped to 20.9 points and 5.1 assists per game, and his 25.3% three-point shooting rate was the worst performance of his career.
The Kings completed an early renewal with Fox in the summer of 2020, with a five-year contract worth $163 million, the first of those years this season. The Kings currently have Teres Halliburton and Davin Mitchell in addition to their squad, making Fox no longer indispensable.
