The Sacred Mountain Red Culture Memorial Hall is located in Dianqian Street, Huli District, which is the commanding heights on the north shore of Xiamen Island. On October 15, 1949, the Chinese People's Liberation Army launched a campaign to liberate Xiamen Island, and the first five-star red flag for the liberation of Xiamen was planted on this land.
Zhang Shuibo used his left hand to block the sunset light that hit his face, and his right hand pointed to a huge oil painting on the west wall of the memorial hall, saying that this painting was repeatedly studied and carefully designed by us, trying to restore the scene of the People's Liberation Army landing on Xiamen Island. At the top of the oil painting, the full text of the People's Daily's october 24, 1949 report "Planting the Flag of New China on Xiamen Island" is engraved in red characters, which is extremely bright.
In 2013, Xiamen Daily published a report titled "The People's Daily Recorded the Moment of Xiamen's Liberation on its Front Page," which caught Zhang Shuibo's attention. The report mentioned that "the liberation of Xiamen was the first sea crossing and landing campaign of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and it was also the first time that the red flag of New China was planted in the liberated big city, which was of great significance." ”
At that time, Zhang Shuibo was the general secretary of the Shenshan Community Party Branch. So he collected relevant details and historical materials through frequent visits to witnesses and researchers, as well as other channels. The materials were temporarily sorted and stored in his office cabinets. In Zhang Shuibo's mobile phone photo album, many information photos related to the sacred mountain are also preserved. "When I see something related to the sacred mountain, I will take pictures of it." The old newspaper published by the People's Daily entitled "Planting the New Chinese Flag on Xiamen Island" was also framed and collected in a professional picture tube.
Zhang Shuibo repeatedly studied this report and consulted and adopted suggestions and opinions from many parties, from which he extracted several cores of the spirit of Shenshan: one is not afraid of sacrifice; the other is to continue to struggle; and the third is to pass on the torch. These spiritual cores, along with Zhang Shuibo's preaching time and time again, spread to the hearts of every visitor who had ascended to the top of the God Mountain. It has been learned that in recent years, nearly 10,000 party members and cadres and college and middle school students have come to Shenshan to review history and receive patriotic education.
The spirit of Shenshan has become an important spiritual symbol used in Huli District to promote red culture in Xiamen, and has also been integrated into the management and construction of the community by Zhang Shuibo. "In the past, we talked about sacrifice, but now we talk about contribution in peacetime, so these staff members we have today must also have a heart of dedication."
80% of the residents of the Shenshan community are retired employees of the former Sanhang Six Company, there are many elderly people, and the basic service facilities of the community are relatively old, which constitutes the characteristics of this community. "We will focus on the two tasks of home care services and the transformation of old communities," Zhang Shuibo said.
In 2017, the national old community on-site observation meeting was held in the Shenshan community, and the experience of the transformation of the old community in Shenshan was promoted as a typical one and won the affirmation of all walks of life.
In the party building leading the construction of the community, the spirit of Shenshan has also become an important source of strength. "Our Shenshan Sanhang Community has won the 'Xiamen Five-Star Safe Community' and 'Xiamen City's Cleanest Community without Property'. Among them, the self-dedication of our party members and cadres has played a role. Zhang Shuibo said that the greening and sanitation of this community were consciously completed by the old party members leading the resident volunteers, and a system was formed to achieve a high degree of autonomy.
At this time, Zhang Shuibo has just stepped down as the general secretary of the community party branch, and he will have more time to continue to collect and study the historical materials of shenshan.
