He is Niu Shiduan, a 94-year-old retired soldier in Jieshou City.

Niu Shiduan, a member of the Communist Party of China, was born in 1928 and was the chief of the security section of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China before leaving. On February 12, 2020, 92-year-old Niu Shiduan donated 5,000 yuan to the Jieshou City Veterans Affairs Bureau to fight the new crown pneumonia epidemic. Under his inspiration, the youngest son Niu Weidong also donated 1,000 yuan. Niu Shiduan said that the country was suddenly hit by the new crown epidemic, he was old, he could not contribute to the country, he could only donate some money to express his heart.

This was Niu Shiduan's second donation of money that year. On January 22, 2020, Niu Shiduan donated 20,000 yuan saved by the province to eat and save, and brought his sons, nephews and grandchildren to haowang village in Wangji Town, sending gifts such as rice, noodles, oil, and pastries to Haowang Village in Wangji Town, and comforted 18 families in need, such as the elderly, the old veterans, the survivors of martyrs, and the mentally handicapped patients.

The old man Niu Shiduan has experienced the storms of war, knows that life is not easy, and has donated money many times. During his work in Tibet, he donated 1,000 yuan in silver to the Brick Ji People's Commune in Jieshou County, which is equivalent to half a year's salary; Donated 1900 yuan to support the development of production in his hometown Cheng Canzhai Commune, which is equivalent to his salary for one and a half years. For his own family, Niu Shiduan has always been strict, requiring them to support themselves and never add trouble to the country. In 1948, at the age of 20, Niu Shiduan joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In 1949, Niu Shiduan went south with the medical specialty of the Eighteenth Army, and followed the troops to march on foot into the southwest. In 1951, Niu Shiduan followed the troops into Tibet to garrison the border defense, and when there was no road, he repaired while walking; Eat snow without food. At the foot of the Himalayas, he was rooted there for 8 years... Because of his hard work, active work and outstanding achievements, Niu Shiduan won the title of "First Class People's Meritorious Hero" and was awarded the Third Class Meritorious Service 3 times. Niu Shiduan felt that compared with those comrades who had passed away, he was lucky enough to never mention the recognition he had received to anyone, and worked in an ordinary post until he left.

In 2005, Niu Shiduan was awarded the commemorative medal for the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese min Anti-Japanese War. In August 2007, his deeds were included in the "Chronicle of the Founding Fathers". In July 2011, he attended a conference to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and was received by party and state leaders.
