According to Reuters Cairo reported on January 18, local residents said on Tuesday that about 14 people were killed in a building in the city during the airstrikes launched by the Saudi-led coalition on the Yemeni capital, Sana'a.

Just before the coalition launched the airstrike on Sana'a, which was occupied by the Houthis, the Houthi group launched an attack on the Uae, one of the alliance's partners, on Monday, resulting in the deaths of three people in Abu Dhabi.

The coalition also said it intercepted eight drones fired by the Houthis to Saudi Arabia.

Saudi state media reported that earlier on Tuesday, the coalition announced airstrikes on Houthi strongholds and camps in Sana'a.

The report pointed out that the airstrike appears to be the most serious airstrike in Sana'a since 2019.

Locals say airstrikes on the home of a former military official have killed at least 14 people, including the former official, his wife and children.

A Houthi official tweeted that the coalition airstrikes had killed about 20 people.

The previous day, the Houthis launched attacks on two locations in the UAE, resulting in the deaths of 3 people. The UAE government announced that it reserves the right to respond to the "terrorist attack".

U.S. officials condemned the attack on the UAE. U.S. President's National Security Adviser Jack Sullivan said: "The Houthis have announced that they have carried out this attack and we will work with the UAE and our international partners to bring the culprits to justice." "Our commitment to security in the UAE is unwavering."
