TA: The Premier League will meet to re-discuss the rules that have postponed the match due to the pandemic

According to a joint report by The Athletic UK reporters Dan Sheldon and Matt Slater, the Premier League is ready to reconsider the details of the rules related to postponing the game.

Sources revealed that after the next round of matches, clubs will hold a joint Premier League meeting to discuss how to change the rules, after weeks of controversy over the rescheduling of the game. After the 23rd game of the season, the Premier League entered a brief winter break until 8 February, with hopes that the two-and-a-half week holiday would give enough time for the new rules to be developed and implemented.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Premier League said: "In view of the changing situation in the country and the decline in the number of positive cases among league teams, the Premier League is consulting with our clubs on rules and guidelines for postponing matches due to COVID-19. The Alliance's current guidance was revised following the advent of the new Olmikeron variant in December, and we will continue to monitor the continuing impact of this variant and will update our guidance accordingly. ”

So far, 21 games have been postponed, and there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the current rules of the game. The rules stipulate that if one of the teams does not have 13 outfielders available and a goalkeeper, then the game will be postponed.
