Qi Gong (July 26, 1912 – June 30, 2005), known as "Qi Ming Gong of the surname Qi Minggong", also known as Yuan Bo ,Also known as Yuan Bo (元伯), was a Manchu of Beijing. The ninth grandson of the Yongzheng Emperor. He is a famous contemporary Chinese calligrapher, painter, educator, classical philologist, appraiser, red scholar, poet, and master of traditional Chinese studies.

He once served as an associate professor and professor of Beijing Normal University, a standing committee member of the National Committee of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference, a chairman of the State Cultural Relics Appraisal Committee, the director of the Central Research Museum of Culture and History, a doctoral supervisor, an advisor to the Jiusan Society, an honorary chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, the founding chairman of the World Federation of Chinese Calligraphers and Painters, an advisor to the Buddhist Association of China, the Palace Museum and the National Museum, and the president of the Xiling Printing Society.

Mr. Qi Gong is a well-known contemporary scholar, painter and calligrapher. He was well-written, proficient in linguistics, and even studied the Eight Strands of Literature, which had become a historical relic; he was a good poet and at the same time an expert in ancient calligraphy and painting, especially the study of inscriptions.

Appreciating his calligraphy works, we must always think of his in-depth study of the stele, because his study of the stele is inextricably linked to his calligraphy artistic achievements, and the study of stele is a discipline that arose in the Ming and Qing dynasties. He is one of the pioneers of this garden. In addition to the antique collectors who exaggerate the treasures and compete in the collection, this discipline is divided into two categories: one is to study the historical materials in it, to make up for the history of inscriptions, or to read the words; the other is to appreciate and study the art of calligraphy. Mr. Qi Gong is both good at both, and he is more proficient in the latter, and he blends between the two, and his method breaks through the barriers of his predecessors.
