San Francisco, January 18 (China News Service) -- The US media reported on the 18th that the organizers of the Grammy Music Awards announced on the same day that the 64th Grammy Music Awards ceremony will be postponed to April 3 at the MGM Garden Theater in Las Vegas.

"Los Angeles Times" reported on the 18th that on the same day, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the organizer of the Grammy Music Awards, announced the time and place of this year's award ceremony. The New York Times reported that this was the first time the awards ceremony had been held in Las Vegas. CBS and the "Paramount+" streaming platform will broadcast the awards ceremony live.

This year's list of nominees led the way with Golden Globe winner, jazz musician and pianist Jonathan Baptiste with 11 nominations, Justin Bieber, Pod Cat and H.E.R. each with 8 nominations, and "Pear" Billie Elish and Olivia Rodrigo each receiving 7 nominations. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the nomination list for the most high-profile Album of the Year, Production of the Year, Song of the Year and Newcomer of the Year awards was expanded from 8 to 10 in this year's selection.

The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has previously said that because of the rapid spread of the Omiljun variant, this year's awards ceremony will not be held in Los Angeles on Jan. 31 as planned. This is the second consecutive year that the Grammy Awards have been postponed. In 2021, the awards ceremony, which was scheduled to take place on January 31, was finally moved to March 14, and only a few people, including nominees and guests, watched the ceremony.

The annual Grammy Awards are the biggest event in the American music industry and are figuratively known as the "Oscars of Music." (End)
