A cardiac arrest in Sun Yat-sen University, under the AED participation in the first aid, the patient was rescued; an elderly cardiac arrest in Baiyun Mountain, or under the AED participation in the first aid, the patient successfully recovered; that is, incomplete statistics in the second half of this year show that after the promotion of AED, Guangzhou has successfully treated the lives of 4 patients with cardiac arrest outside the hospital... As an important tool for correcting ventricular fibrillation patients, AED's miraculous effect in cardiac arrest first aid has given it the reputation of a first aid artifact. It is based on this that more and more cities regard AED into schools, public places, and transportation stations as an important task to promote.

On the morning of the 18th, 14 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) purchased by the Provincial Medical Charity Fund of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital were donated to Guangdong Experimental Middle School, Guangdong Guangya Middle School, Guangzhou No. 16 Middle School, and Guangzhou Peizheng Middle School, and Professor Yu Xueqing, president of the hospital, said that not only the donation of emergency equipment, the professional team of provincial doctors will also regularly go to primary and secondary schools for pre-hospital emergency knowledge training, so that the concept of pre-hospital first aid is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.

At the donation ceremony, Yu Xueqing, President of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, and Deputy Secretary He Bin donated AEDs to four schools on behalf of the Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital Medical Charity Fund. At the same time, it is also planned to carry out at least 2 first aid training in each school every year, covering middle school students and teaching staff, and the training forms also include large class system and small class teaching, etc., aiming to continuously provide professional first aid training and improve the awareness of first aid training in the whole society.

It is reported that according to the statistics of the National Cardiovascular Center in 2019, the number of sudden cardiac deaths in the mainland is as high as 550,000 per year, but in contrast to the low proportion of AED configuration in public places on the mainland, public staff do not know how to use AED. In addition, the first aid training rate of the mainland people is only about 1.2%, which is far lower than that of developed countries, but in the first aid, there is "return to heaven" known as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and the key moment can make people "come back to life". However, the current situation is that due to the lack of understanding of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) first aid, the rescue time is delayed, resulting in the disappearance of life repeatedly.

Yu Xueqing, president of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, said: "The mainland now has a much lower rate of first aid training than developed countries such as Europe and the United States, and the promotion of first aid technology among middle school students can enable more middle school students to dare to rescue and know how to rescue." The follow-up provincial doctor also plans to carry out first aid training for more staff in public places, combined with the "health through train", popular science lectures, rural revitalization and other work to carry out first aid training and promotion projects, improve the awareness and level of first aid in public places, further build an emergency training promotion platform, and expand the radiation scope and influence of our hospital's first aid public welfare training.

On the afternoon of January 13 and January 18, Guangdong Peizheng Middle School and Guangzhou No. 16 Middle School took the lead in carrying out first aid training for middle school students, and the students who participated in the training of Peizheng Middle School said that when they were in primary school, they participated in the fire escape training, and the purpose of learning was to save themselves. Now as a middle school student, he participates in first aid training, and the purpose of learning is to save people, which makes him very proud.

In 2015, Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital launched the "Let the Heartbeat Continue" CPR Training Public Welfare Project, and carried out CPR training in many schools such as South China University of Technology, Zhixin Middle School, and Guangdong Experimental Middle School, benefiting nearly 10,000 students. In 2020, we will carry out public welfare cooperation with Guangzhou Metro, donate a batch of AEDs to Guangzhou Metro and carry out first aid training for 200 subway employees, further improve the emergency first aid level of subway station staff, and provide safer travel services for passengers.
