Biography
Xu Jinyuan, Han ethnicity, native of Dezhou, Shandong, joined the army in December 2005, joined the party in November 2008, third-class sergeant major, and is currently the leader of a comprehensive training base. He has been rated as "Outstanding Communist Party Member" twice, "Excellent Non-Commissioned Officer" twice, Rongli "Personal Third Class Meritorious Service" once, commended as "Advanced Individual in Rescue and Disaster Relief", "Red Flag Vehicle Driver Pacesetter" of the Group Army, won the "United Nations Medal" of the United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and in December 2021, was commended as the "Army Red Flag Vehicle Driver Pacesetter".

In 2005, Xu Jinyuan, who had just turned 18, joined the army with the feeling of serving the country. At the beginning of 2008, Xu Jinyuan's unit selected an engineer detachment to carry out international peacekeeping missions in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and Xu Jinyuan, who had just been selected as a corporal, resolutely signed up to participate. After layers of selection and assessment, he embarked on the journey of peacekeeping as he wished.

During the peacekeeping period, Xu Jinyuan drilled deep mountains and dense forests, participated in more than 20 construction tasks, maintained and repaired more than 300 kilometers of roads, repaired 16 bridges, and traveled more than 20,000 kilometers in 8 months, transporting more than 200 tons of materials, interpreting the mission of Chinese peacekeepers with practical actions.

In August 2010, a sudden mudslide disaster occurred in Zhouqu, Gansu Province. After receiving the rescue mission, Xu Jinyuan resolutely postponed his vacation and took the initiative to apply to participate in the rescue. He and his comrades-in-arms drove for 16 hours a day and night, traveling more than 800 kilometers, becoming the first rescue force to reach the disaster area.

Just arrived at the disaster area, Xu Jinyuan immediately threw himself into the rescue and disaster relief, he fought with his comrades-in-arms for more than 20 days and nights, cleaning up more than 400 tons of silt, transporting more than 30 people affected by the disaster, and accumulating a total of 10,000 kilometers. After the mission, Xu Jinyuan was commended as an "advanced individual in emergency rescue and disaster relief" for his outstanding performance, and was awarded the third class merit once.

In the past 17 years, Xu Jinyuan has been engaged in driving for 15 years, successively serving as a public service driver, squad leader, detachment leader, etc., and can skillfully drive 7 types of vehicles such as command cars, transport vehicles, heavy loaded transport vehicles, and large passenger commuter cars.

In January 2018, the whole battalion organized driver training, and Xu Jinyuan was responsible for the maintenance of the company's vehicles. He led the backbone to learn the relevant theories, dismantled hundreds of parts, replaced more than 50 barrels of oil, and restored the technical performance of the vehicle. At the same time, he also took the initiative to consult the repair technician, delve into common troubleshooting methods, write down thousands of words of learning experience, and become a technical pacesetter for the whole battalion.
