Ambassador Chen Xu of the Chinese Permanent Mission in Geneva and Susannah, Deputy Director-General of the World Health Organization, attended the talks throughout the talks.

Huang Luqi introduced that President Xi Jinping announced at the 8th ministerial meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation to provide another 1 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Africa, and stressed the importance of solidarity against the epidemic and vaccine fairness at the World Economic Forum video conference held on the morning of January 17. On behalf of the China Center for Evidence-Based Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Huang Luqi submitted the "Research Report on the Evidence-based Evaluation of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Treatment of COVID-19" to Tedros, which systematically evaluated the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese medicine with scientific methods. Tedros readily accepted the study.
