In February 1951, the Volunteer Army launched a counterattack at Hengcheng, and the 3rd Battalion of the 352nd Regiment of the 40th Army, where Yu Shuilin was located, was ordered to detour behind the enemy. As they intersected at a three-way intersection, suddenly a convoy of more than 100 American vehicles drove by. The 3rd Battalion immediately began fighting, with the 7th and 9th Companies occupying two intersections and the 8th Company responsible for dealing with the Americans.
Soon, the battle began. The Eighth Company unleashed all its fire, catching the Americans off guard. The two cars in the front row were on fire, and there was smoke everywhere, and the cars in the back also collided.
In order to quickly break through here, the American troops mobilized two tanks from behind, fantasizing about clearing all these obstacles. At the moment of crisis, the two tanks in front of us became the targets of our attack!
Seeing this, Yu Shuilin rushed up with two grenades alone and ran to the two tanks.
Because the enemy inside the tank had spotted it, it drove towards him more quickly. Yu Shuilin, on the other hand, cleverly maneuvered back and forth, avoiding the tank's fire, and quickly approached the tank, then rolled sideways, rolled to the side of the tank, and then pushed the grenade into orbit. After a loud noise, the tank was immediately destroyed.
The man in the tank came out of the tank and wanted to escape. Yu Shuilin was already waiting for them. He fired a strafing shot with his gun, killing all the enemies immediately.
The enemy's second tank also rushed up, and zhai Wenqing, the instructor of the third battalion, was besieging the others. Yu Shuilin roared and rushed to the enemy's firing angle, and the last grenade was inserted into the track, and the enemy's second tank was scrapped.
After the two tanks were scrapped, they completely blocked the escape route of the American army. However, the U.S. army soldiers in crisis are not ordinary people, and still rely on the armored vehicles in front for cover shooting.
In spite of all this, Yu Shuilin directly charged forward, but unfortunately was hit in the arm by a stray bullet, and the blood flowed for a while. His comrades wanted to send him back, but he was angry and determined not to retreat, and since he could not hold the gun, he threw a grenade with his left hand and mouth.
During the battle, 8 American soldiers hid in a small hill. Yu Shuilin descended from the sky, holding a grenade in his left hand and a lead in his mouth. Seeing this scene, the American soldiers were frightened and simply surrendered.
In this way, Yu Shuilin captured eight American soldiers with one arm and a grenade.
Instructor Zhai Wenqing saw this scene and was so excited that he shed tears. After the war, he reported to the water forest for his great achievements. Later, Yu Shuilin was awarded the first class merit and was awarded the honorary medal of "second class hero".
However, this battle also caused Yu Shuilin's right arm to be severely damaged and had to be amputated.

With the help of Master Zhai, the county quickly settled Yu Shuilin's treatment, built a house for him, and helped him marry his wife. Until this time, everyone in the village knew that this great hero who had broken down and settled down was originally a great hero who resisted US aggression and aided Korea on the battlefield!
