Outside the window, there is a tung tree, which is not very large, and on spring days, it is full of leaves. The branches are deep green, the branches are shallow, and under the background of the canopy, you can see the green veins on the back of the leaf.
The joy of The Law Tong has been extended for a summer. I always thought that the leaves full of longing must grow like a fan, but in late autumn, the leaves will no longer grow, but will fall one by one. Fa Tong became emaciated, cold, and became naked, with only some craggy bones.
I thought it was cruel, so I went to pick up a fallen leaf under the tree and keep it for the memory of the past.

In the spring of the following year, the tung was full of leaves, and I took out the fallen leaves that I had collected over the years, and compared with this new leaf, the outline of the leaves was the same. Oh, leaf, do you know that this piece is a substitute for that piece?
It turns out that the growth of fa tong is not only the movement of green life, but also a philosophical proposition that is verifying: joy comes, joy returns, which is the content of joy between heaven and earth. Everything in the world seeks this content and fulfills its existence in its own right.
So I admired the Dharma Tong and blessed it: it withered old leaves every year, and in this way it longed for a new life in the coming year, it did not stagnate, did not age, and the goal grew in the space of heaven and earth.
When New China was founded, it did not have its own "flora"; writing books and erecting monuments for plants that grow silently was exactly what botanists dreamed of.
Zeng Xiaolian and more than 300 plant taxonomists and 164 illustrators began the "Long March". In 37 years, through thousands of rivers and mountains, he compiled and completed the Flora of China, which is 80 volumes and 126 volumes, more than 50,000,000 words, and partial indexes of 1155 pages.
In order to observe the green velvet artemisia, Zeng Xiaolian climbed the 4700-meter Baima Snow Mountain in Yunnan, lying on the snow and carefully reflecting the wonderful light of its satin petals in the sun, until now, he still remembers the joy and emotion when he saw the green velvet artemisia.
In recent years, the elderly Zeng Xiaolian underwent surgery to remove lung tumors. After the operation, he found that his hands were not shaking and he could continue to draw. In order to devote himself to the creation, he insisted on not using radiotherapy or chemotherapy. In the two years after his illness, Zeng Xiaolian completed more than 100 new paintings.

In October 2021, Zeng Xiaolian and the famous CG painter Wu He Qilin cooperated to release a new work "Gong" for the 15th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, showing the significance of all living beings breathing and sharing a common destiny.
