Recently, BAIC Manufacturing released a preview of the new BJ212. It is understood that the new car will launch three different models of hard top version, soft top version and pickup version, and will provide three different power systems of 2.0L, 2.0T and 2.4T. According to the trailer, the new BJ212 is closer to modern hardcore off-road vehicles such as Wrangler, Bronco, tank 300 in appearance, the proportions are more coordinated, and the stiff lines are also in line with the identity of the car's hardcore off-road. The new car features AT off-road tires with spare tires exposed on the tailgate. The taillights are more flexible and recognizable.
Although the official has not yet revealed the true appearance of the new car, the product introduction information circulating on the Internet can give us some inspiration. For example, the new car still retains the retro-style design, and the two round headlights are still retained.
In terms of body size, the new car length, width and height are 4325/1830/1910mm, the wheelbase is 2460mm, the new car wheelbase is consistent with the current model, the size has been slightly increased, or the original taste. Interestingly, the soft-topped, hard-topped and pickup models did not have to be resized due to differences in styling.
In terms of interior, the new car adopts two sets of different interior styles, one is the tendency and comfort, with the steering wheel of the mainstream shape, the feel is better, and the center console is also equipped with a large size car machine screen; the other has a hardcore interior style, the retro shape of the steering wheel is thinner and larger, canceling the machine screen of the center console, more rugged.
In terms of power, the new car will provide three powertrains of 2.0 liters of naturally aspirated, 2.0T turbocharged and 2.4T turbocharged, with a 5-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission, and the new car will still be equipped with a mechanical four-wheel drive system.
