Huaxinli Workshop was built by Hua Xuanzhi, the king of beekeeping in Jiangnan, and has been nearly 100 years old. Its predecessor was Huaxin Silk Factory Workshop Area. Huaxin Silk Factory is a branch of the Yongtai Silk Factory established by Xue Nanming, the eldest son of the famous thinker and diplomat Xue Fucheng.

Yongtai Silk Factory was founded in 1896 by Xue Nanming and Zhou Shunqing, the "King of Coal and Iron". The factory was originally located in Qipu Road, Shanghai, due to the first time to open the factory, lack of management experience, soon Yongtai Silk Factory due to poor management and losses. At that time, Zhou Shi had to withdraw his shares from Yongtai Silk Factory because he needed capital turnover. Reluctantly, Xue Nanming decided to sell some of his real estate in Shanghai to tide over the difficulties. So Xue Nanming moved the entire factory to the south gate of Wuxi.

In 1905, Xue Nanming hired Xu Jinrong (the general manager of Shanghai Yishang Lunhua Silk Factory) as the manager of Yongtai Silk Factory. Xu Jinrong, with his own experience and experience, worked factory management and worker technical training, and personally wrote the production process tips to facilitate workers' memorization. He paid special attention to the quality control of raw silk, and finally turned a profit. The "Golden Double Deer" and "Silver Double Deer" brand white factory silk produced by the factory are growing in international reputation. In 1908, Xue Nanming and Xu Jinrong jointly established a silk factory outside the West Gate, and named it "Jinji Silk Factory" (Wuxi people usually commonly known as "Yongtai Second Factory"), step by step to build their own cocoon silk kingdom.

After the silk factory moved to tin, it was basically handed over to Xue Shouxuan, the son of Xue Nanming. Xue Shouxuan was a "returnee" who went to Illinois State University in the United States in 1921 to study railway management and economic management. Because of his background in the United States and a detailed investigation of Japan, where the silk industry was developing rapidly at that time, he hired a group of new people such as Zou Jingheng and Xue Zukang to carry out comprehensive reforms in the equipment, technology and management of the silk factory.

In 1929, Xue Shouxuan introduced longbow and Chiba-type cocoon machines from Japan and abolished the child labor that specialized in Soxu. In the Yongtai Silk Factory, a "practice class" was opened, and in the same year, it invested in the construction of Huaxin Silk Cultivation Institute. "Wuxi Silk Industry Chronicle" shows that the recruitment of trainees in the training class was very strict, all the factory leaders were present, interviewed, written test, and finally settled down a few people, and later these people became the backbone of the Silk Weaving Industry in Wuxi. A total of 5 such "practice classes" were held. After the implementation of a series of scientific reforms, the silk factory has achieved great development. "Golden Double Deer" brand raw silk has won the gold medal at the New York World Exposition and sold well in many countries in Europe and the United States. Yongtai has also become the core enterprise in Xue's silk cocoon enterprise kingdom.

From 1937 to 1945, during the Japanese occupation period, the office of Huaxin Silk Factory was destroyed and the machinery and equipment were destroyed. After 1946, Huaxin Silk Factory was renamed Meixin Silk Factory and reopened for business. After the company's joint venture in 1951, Meixin Silk Factory (formerly Huaxin Silk Factory) withdrew from the historical stage. And the workshop Huaxinli has survived the wind and frost of history.
