OnePlus 6/6T officially ends support and will no longer get updates

IT House January 18 news, last July, OnePlus shared its updated software maintenance plan, promising three major Android major version upgrades and four years of security updates for its flagship devices.

However, the new timeline does not apply to the old flagship. OnePlus only promises two major Android upgrades and three years of security updates for the OnePlus 7 series, without even mentioning the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T.

OnePlus 6/6T officially ends support and will no longer get updates

Recently, oneplus community officials confirmed that the official support for oneplus 6 and one plus 6T has ended and no more updates will be made. Both models recently received the November 2021 patch update, which was the last update.

After 3 major updates and more than 3 years of security updates, approximately 60 closed beta releases and more than 30 open beta releases, it's time to announce the end of official software support for oneplus 6 and 6T.

IT Home learned that the OnePlus 6/6T was released in 2018, and it is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, which uses the design of Liu Haiping and WaterDrop Screen respectively. Two models pre-installed with Hydrogen OS, based on Android 9.0.

OnePlus mobile phones have now fully switched to ColorOS, and the OnePlus 6/6T has not been adapted. But thankfully, although the official support is over, the OnePlus 6/6T still has a lot of third-party support and can brush a lot of ROMs.
