In 2021, China will implement 1388 capital construction archaeological projects

The reporter learned from the meeting of the directors of the National Cultural Relics Bureau held on the 17th that in 2021, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage promoted the implementation of the "first archaeology, then transfer" system, and implemented 1388 capital construction archaeological projects throughout the year to rescue and protect historical and cultural heritage; 241 active archaeological excavations were carried out in various places, and 6 major projects of "Archaeology in China" were launched and 18 achievements were released, and the brand effect became increasingly prominent; important archaeological discoveries such as Sanxingdui, the Tomb of the HanWen Emperor, and the Pirot site attracted wide attention. In 2022, we will do a good job in the top-level design of the excavation and interpretation of Chinese civilization, introduce and implement the "14th Five-Year Plan" for national archaeological work, and organize the construction of archaeological specimen warehouses in key national areas.
