In the 1960s, a song "Red Sun Shines on the Frontier" was sung all over the motherland, do you know what kind of story this song has?

Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture is located in the eastern part of Jilin Province, at the junction of China, North Korea and Russia.

Koreans can sing and dance. The "red song" of Yanbian Prefecture was once famous in Shenzhou.

"Let's fight!" In 1964, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture held a literary and artistic performance to compete with the excellent works of Chairman Mao and the Communist Party. After learning this news, Jin Fenghao said this to his teammate Han Yunhao. A year later, the "Yanbian People Love Chairman Mao" created by them spread throughout the country, and the names of Jin Fenghao and Han Yunhao were also known to everyone.

After that, the whole country carried out a large harvest activity, and the leaders of Yanbian Prefecture, located in the northeast border, directly proposed the "harvest song" for Jin Fenghao.

Seeing the title of "Harvest Song", Jin Fenghao immediately thought of his life with the peasants of the Shanghua Production Brigade in Helong County (now Xinghua Village, Yonghua Township, Helong City) who ate, lived and worked together. In 1954, Jin Fenghao participated in agricultural production activities and became a junior member. He planted seedlings during the day and planted the land, and insisted on self-study at night. At that time, Jin Fenghao often had to carry an accordion weighing 18 kilograms to the countryside, often resting at one or two o'clock in the morning.

Located on the edge of the Tumen River, the Shanghua Production Brigade is surrounded by rocky mountains, the land is scarce and barren, and the agricultural production is backward. At the call of the party and the state, local farmers removed the stones with their bare hands, improved the soil, built high-quality fertile fields, and increased grain production. It was with this inspiration that Jin Fenghao created the "Harvest Song".

In 1968, Kim's old partner Han Yoon-ho refilled the lyrics for the song and officially named it "Red Sun Shines on the Frontier". The song shows the scene of the people of Yanbian building dams and diverting water, opening up wasteland for grain, turning barren hills into orchards, and turning shiling into granaries under the leadership of the party, and artistically expresses the feelings of the people of all ethnic groups in Yanbian who love the party, feel the gratitude of the party, follow the party, and the firm confidence of striving to build the frontier, and has become a classic that has been sung for more than half a century.

After that, the fire of art became more and more popular in Yanbian. National famous composers Jin Fenghao, Sang Nan and other artists have created many excellent works that sing Yanbian, such as "Long Drum Beating Up" and "The Glory of the Party Shines on Yanbian". In 2020, the domestic singing group "Black Duck", with popular singing methods, re-created the classic song "Unforgettable Day", which was broadcast on major media platforms.

Promote mass activities. On the occasion of celebrating the centenary of the founding of the party, Yanbian Prefecture held an original excellent song performance and a TV literary and art evening for reciting red classic poems, and the red songs "Yanbian Red", "100 Years Old is Young", the poetry recitation "The Direction of the Red Boat", "Salute to the People" and other programs were deeply loved by the masses.
