Jump into the sea and what you see is not a quiet coral reef, but a quiet underwater city with four hundred statues that anyone might be shocked. This mysterious place, which is visited by 750,000 people every year, is truly astonishing.

This mysterious undersea city is located by the Riviera Maya on the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, where it was originally a small village in Cancun. This unique idea is a reaction to Punta Nizuc Park and its surrounding natural scenery, which is attributed to the keen interest of tourists and divers. The Underwater Museum was established to divert visitors' attention to another part of the park, thus reducing the burden on nature and the endangered part. The sculptures were made of PH-neutral concrete by sculptor and diver Jason De Caires Taylor.

Thousands of tourists (also from the Czech Republic, of course) dive into the nine-meter depth to see the city of the "Silent Revolution". But thanks to the cumbersome silent passages between hundreds of life-size statues, which are slowly covered with algae and aquatic weeds, the nickname "Ghost Town" becomes more pronounced.
