"Obscure" imperial concubine
In the guangxu emperor's life, there were only three women, except for Empress Longyu, there were only zhenfei sisters. Compared with a strong woman like Cixi, and there is a noble Empress Longyu and a pampered concubine, the story of Concubine Jin is indeed plain.
Princess Jin has gone through several generations of emperors in the Qing Palace in her lifetime, but she is unknown in history. However, she was lucky to end up as a princess. And this luck may be due to her indifference.
Concubine Jin, also known as The Noble Concubine of the Duankang Emperor, was the daughter of Changxu, the Left Attendant of the Rebbe, the concubine of the Manchurian Zhenghong Banner, and the concubine of the Guangxu Emperor. Concubine Jin also had a younger sister, who was also the concubine of the Guangxu Emperor, that is, Concubine Zhen.
In the fourteenth year of Guangxu, that is, in 1888, at the post-election ceremony of the Guangxu Emperor, Concubine Jin and her sister Zhenfei were both elected and became the concubines of the Guangxu Emperor, and they were married in the first month of the following year, and entered the palace as Concubine Jin and Concubine Zhen respectively.

She also rarely fought with people in the palace and was good for others, so although she was later demoted to a nobleman by the involvement of her sister Zhenfei, Empress Dowager Cixi did not put her under house arrest and was able to still live in Yonghe Palace.
Life in the deep palace was naturally boring, so in order to pass the time, Princess Jin sent danqing to practice calligraphy all day long, and practiced Xiao Kai to a very high level.
There have also been rumors before that Princess Jin's bills with small letters have been passed down, which can be said to be much better than many modern calligraphers.
Princess Jin's Xiao Kai is indeed significantly different from other people's Xiao Kai, its handwriting is beautiful, clean and neat, and it does not drag mud and water, which looks very pleasing to the eye.
Looking at the characteristics of Xiao Kai, unlike Han Li, because its pen is round, beautiful, straight and neat, it can become a necessary calligraphy for ancient daily writing.
There are many small letters handed down by the ancients, among which the small kai that has been handed down from generation to generation is the most prominent with the reputation of Xiao Kai in the Jin and Tang Dynasties.
And Princess Jin's Xiaokai level is also very high, which can be said to have been widely praised.
In addition to her love of calligraphy, Princess Jin was also very fond of food, so the cooking in yonghe Palace was excellent, and even the princes and ministers loved to eat her rewarded meals.
Princess Jin also liked to collect all kinds of craft clocks, and at that time, the bottle plates and bonsai placed on the table in the East and West Halls of yonghe Palace were embedded with refined copper watches, and there were flowers, birds, and figures in the clock.
It is also her indifferent attitude that allows her to go through great ups and downs and finally achieve good results.

After the death of Zhenfei's sister and the death of Cixi Guangxu, Concubine Jin became a princess. And in the year following Puyi's abdication, due to the death of Empress Longyu, Concubine Jin's status among the four concubines was even higher.
As the youngest of the four concubines and the most open-minded, when the Qing Court negotiated the marriage of Puyi in the eleventh year of the Republic of China, Concubine Jin strongly supported Wanrong as empress, so she was very respectful of Puyi and Wanrong.
In the thirteenth year of the Republic of China, after celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with Puyi and his royal family, Princess Jin fell ill due to wind and cold, and finally died in the Yonghe Palace five days later due to the deterioration of the situation, at the age of fifty-two.
She was buried as a concubine of the Duankang Emperor in the Garden of concubines of the Chongling Emperor, with the courtesy name of Duankang Emperor's concubine.
Her life seems to have no story worth writing, nor has she left a son and a half daughter, but she has died a good death.
According to the recollections of her juniors, in her later years, because she missed her family very much, she bought a property for her family in order to see her mother every day, and every day she looked southwest through a small pavilion on a garden rockery with the help of a telescope. Because of the appointment with the mother in advance, the mother and daughter were able to look at each other from a distance.
It was a common human feeling, but in the court, she could only hide her personal feelings deeply, which may just show her survival wisdom.
