On November 7, 2021, Shenzhou 13 astronaut Wang Yaping came out of the capsule, becoming the first female astronaut in China to carry out the spaceflight activities, taking the first step in China's female extravehicular spacewalk. On December 9 of the same year, "space teachers" Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu brought the first space teaching activity of the Chinese space station to the majority of young people on the China Space Station. On December 26 of the same year, Wang Yaping cooperated with the ground control of the robotic arm to support two outgoing astronauts, Ye Guangfu and Zhai Zhigang, to carry out extravehicular operations.

Wang Yaping, female, Han ethnicity, born in Yantai, Shandong, member of the Communist Party of China, master's degree. Born in January 1980, enlisted in the army in August 1997, joined the party in May 2000, and is now a first-class astronaut of the Astronaut Brigade of the people's liberation army of the Chinese, with the rank of colonel. He once served as the deputy captain of a regiment of a division of the Air Force Aviation Corps, flew safely for 1567 hours, and was rated as a second-class pilot of the Air Force. In May 2010, he was selected as the second batch of astronauts in China. In March 2012, he was selected as a backup astronaut for the Shenzhou 9 mission. In June 2013, he performed the Shenzhou 10 mission, and in July of the same year, he was awarded the honorary title of "Heroic Astronaut" by the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission, and was awarded the "Third-Class Aerospace Meritorious Medal". In December 2019, he was selected as a crew member of the Shenzhou 13 mission.
