In 2021, the public security organs arrested more than 300 criminal suspects who produced and sold pornographic materials for teenagers, eradicated 16 pornographic websites involving juveniles; inspected more than 12,000 key websites and Apps such as online education and games, imposed administrative penalties on 852 enterprises that violated laws and regulations, and rectified 2,609 within a time limit; cleaned up more than 400,000 pornographic and vulgar literary works and more than 1.04 million pieces of illegal and harmful information of all kinds, and fully protected the physical and mental health of adolescents.

The reporter learned from the press conference held by the Ministry of Public Security on January 14 that in the special action of "Clean Net 2021", the public security organs took "purifying cyberspace and protecting healthy growth" as the guide, and deeply promoted the "seedling protection" action to protect the health of adolescents.

Since 2021, public security organs have carried out key supervision of online games with large user bases, regularly carried out network security supervision and inspections, found a number of online game websites and apps with prominent problems and loopholes, urged operators to rectify and effectively perform network security responsibilities. Li Tong, deputy director of the Cyber Security Protection Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, said that as of now, a total of more than 450 Internet game companies have been inspected and 134 problem games have been investigated and handled, of which 23 have been warned, 85 have been rectified within a time limit, and 24 have been ordered to shut down and stop the shelves, purifying and clearing the network environment.
