Tong Yansheng, the political commissar of the Third Special Mission, saw the situation and picked up one to prepare for a trial shot, but at this time, unfortunate things happened, the grenade exploded in Tong Yansheng's hand, and the five fingers of Tong Yansheng's right hand were all blown away.
The soldiers saw the situation and quickly sent Tong Yansheng to the hospital, because the injury was too serious, and in the end, the doctor could only amputate Tong Yansheng from the wrist.
Tong Yansheng, a native of Anfu, Jiangxi, in 1929, 18-year-old Tong Yansheng joined the revolution, and the following year, he officially joined the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, because of his good performance, by 1932, the 21-year-old Tong Yansheng was already the leader of the Xianggan Military Region's enemy rear advance brigade, and it was also in this year that Tong Yansheng was injured for the first time.
At that time, the Nationalist army was encircling and suppressing the Red Army, and in a battle, Tong Yansheng's troops were surrounded by the Nationalist army, but under the command of Tong Yansheng, the troops soon broke through, and the angry and corrupt Nationalist troops dropped biochemical bombs on the Tong Yansheng troops who broke out.
At that time, the Red Army was being encircled and suppressed, the form was very urgent, there was no time to treat Tong Yansheng's wounds, and soon, Tong Yansheng's wounds became inflamed and grew rotten flesh, in order to save his left leg, Tong Yansheng endured severe pain without anesthesia, did it himself, cut off the rotten flesh on the leg with scissors, and casually found some herbs and applied it to the wound.
Under such harsh conditions, Tong Yansheng's wounds miraculously healed, however, in a battle not long after, Tong Yansheng's left leg was once again injured, injuring his knee, leaving his left leg disabled.
However, after being injured, Tong Yansheng did not give up his revolutionary cause, and in 1933, Tong Yansheng became an excellent party member, led his fighters to carry out guerrilla warfare in the Xianggan Border Region, and participated in the anti-encirclement and suppression of the Central Soviet Region.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Tong Yansheng successively served as a company commander in the New Fourth Army, a battalion political instructor, and a regimental political instructor.
Tong Yansheng is a very responsible person, the opponents of the soldiers, is very caring, every time the troops go to a place, Tong Yansheng no matter how tired, will first go to check, to see if there are no soldiers left behind, protection and other measures are done well.
Although Tong Yansheng was lame on one leg, Tong Yansheng's serious responsibility was still favored by a female warrior, who was Tong Yansheng's later wife Xu Min.
At that time, Xu Min was the accountant of the 2 brigade and 4 regiments, although Tong Yansheng walked a little lame, but in Xu Min's eyes, Tong Yansheng was still dashing and capable.
For Xu Min, Tong Yansheng also liked it, but Tong Yansheng knew that he was a soldier, participating in battles, maiming and even sacrificing was commonplace, and he never dared to face up to this feeling, fortunately, Wang Bicheng, commander of the 2nd Brigade, and Liu Peishan, political commissar, saw the love affair between Tong Yansheng and Xu Min.
In 1943, under the mediation of these two people, Tong Yansheng and Xu Min were happily married, and this year, Tong Yansheng was 32 years old.
But unfortunately, in the second year of their marriage, Tong Yansheng injured his right hand, and after the injury, Tong Yansheng was afraid that his wife was worried, and when they met, he said to his wife Xu Min: "I am lucky, I am not dead." Although his wife Xu Min was distressed, she did not blame Tong Yansheng.
After the right hand was injured, Tong Yansheng went to the front line because of the war on the front line, the wound was not good, the result was that the wound was infected, there was no way, and a second amputation was done, but after the second operation, the injury was not good, Tong Yansheng went to the battlefield again, the wound was infected again, and a second amputation was made.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, when the award ceremony was held in 1955, Tong Yansheng was awarded the rank of major general for military merit, and successively served as the chief of staff of the Northern Jiangsu Military Region and the chief of staff of the Jiangsu Military Region.
In 1985, General Tong Yansheng died at the age of 85.
