Carefully climb up the iron ladder hanging at the entrance of the cave, only to see that the entrance to the cave is small and large, and the cave is 25 meters high, 18 meters wide and 72 meters deep. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the cave was a warehouse for supplies and ammunition for the Eighth Route Army Arsenal.
At that time, the reason why the Arsenal of the Eighth Route Army chose here was because the terrain here was very dangerous, especially the south entrance was the exit of the mountain stream, and it was also the only way to enter the Huangya Cave, if the Huangya Cave was compared to an urn, this was the urn mouth. Along the twisting canyon that looks up to see a line of sky to the end, the turn is only a deep pool on one side, a cliff on the other, along the cliff there is only a one-step wide backing stone ladder, and the deep ditch in the middle of the upper and lower stone ladders is connected by a suspension bridge, which can be described as "one husband and one pass, no one can open".
In November 1941, the Japanese 36th Division and the independent mixed fourth brigade, a total of more than 7,000 people, in accordance with the orders of the commander of the Japanese North China Front, Okamura Ningji, looked around for the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army and the arsenal, and this time they finally found it, so they gathered heavy troops to rush to Huangyadong to destroy the arsenal, and in order to protect the safety of the Huangyadong Arsenal, our army decided that the special task force regiment, with the direct cooperation of the arsenal workers, self-defense forces and militia, would carry out tenacious defensive operations with the invading enemy.
At that time, the Japanese 36th Division, with the "Iron and Steel Brigade" as the main attack and the Huangyadong Arsenal as the main target, occupied the upper and lower Chiyu by separate routes, and before dawn on the 11th, launched an attack on the positions of the three battalions and seven companies by sneak attack. Under the close surveillance and resistance of the outpost squad and the regimental reconnaissance squad, the enemy detoured from the right wing river beach and seized the outpost position of Huaishuping, so the outpost detachment of the special service regiment alternately shifted and resisted step by step, and the enemy followed the attack closely and tried to break through the position at the south entrance in one fell swoop.
The Japanese army failed to make a sneak attack, organized a strong attack, and was resisted by the outpost detachment and the main position of the special service regiment, and was forced to block the fire net and minefield of the special service regiment, and after another half an hour, the enemy artillery destroyed the frontal fortifications of the special service regiment, and when the enemy attacked twenty or thirty meters away from the fortifications of the seventh company, it was killed and injured by the hidden fire on both sides of the seventh company.
Among them, the superiors appointed the seventeen-year-old number Cui Zhenfang, and Wei Shihua, two witty and brave small soldiers, to focus on guarding the Nankou position and throwing grenades. At about 3:00 p.m., the enemy launched another onslaught, dividing into left, center, and right three ways, attacking the direction of the bombing station guarded by Cui Zhenfang. The enemy tried to avoid the frontal fire of the seven companies, broke through from the right flank, and seized the south entrance in one fell swoop, directly taking the position of the broken bridge. At this critical juncture, Wei Shihua was hit by the enemy machine gun, and Cui Zhenfang quickly gave him rescue and said to Shihua: "You go down first, with me, you will definitely be able to complete the task." Cui Zhenfang turned his head, the enemy in front of the right cliff was already approaching, he opened the lid of one grenade after another, pulled out the line of fire, and entered the state of battle.
According to reports, Cui Zhenfang used a horsetail grenade, as the name suggests, the grenade is actually designed with a strong, thick hemp rope behind it, which looks very much like the tail of a horse, so it is named after it. The strange weapon is still a little different from the general grenade power, the killing radius is about 2 meters, but the distance of the throw is very far, because the horsetail rope at the bottom of the grenade can play a role in assisting the throwing, borrowing the power of the horsetail rope to vigorously throw out a certain range, during the War of Resistance, this bomb was also one of the weapons used by the Eighth Route Army that year.

In the evening, just as the battle was about to end, he rushed to the ghost soldiers with a ponytail bullet, was shot in the chest by the enemy machine gun, and fell to the ground where the bomb was dropped. Objectively speaking, a child of this age has only just begun to live for a long time, but Cui Zhenfang has paid his precious life for the war of resistance, and this sacrifice is sad and regrettable.
Cui Zhenfang, a native of Hongdong County, Shanxi, grew up poor, he joined the Eighth Route Army at the age of 13, was transferred to the headquarters special service regiment at the age of 14 to learn the communication technology of the division number, and joined the party at the age of 16 as a commander in the 7 Company, when the 7 Company was stationed in Huangyadong. The defense of Huangya Cave was victorious, and this battle achieved a brilliant record of 6 to 1 casualties between the enemy and us, and the little hero trumpeter Cui Zhenfang used his life and blood to create a brave record of defending by danger and being a hundred.

Nowadays, in the museum, there is a military trumpet left by the martyr Cui Zhenfang, although some of it is incomplete, and even some places have been deformed, but it is a battle horn and a victory horn! This military trumpet and the Ming Diao Dark Fortress that surrounded the Yellow Cliff Cave jointly confirmed the iron-blooded battle of the Eighth Route Army, the green and steep, steep peaks and redstone roofs, and the stone-based arsenal buildings, which condensed the historical facts of the huangya Cave defense battle into an immortal and admirable heroic deed, and turned it into an eternal monument standing on the top of the mountain.
