"Construction Difficulty Test"
In the last waxing program, I said that the car wax is easy to wax and difficult to wax, so it is difficult to see the wax drying after the wax is not easy.
I applied these 3 different kinds of wax to the paint, and then I saw which wax dried first, and after the wax dried, I began to wax with a towel.
The fastest drying was synthetic wax, which I only waited 5 minutes for to dry.
Then I started waxing synthetic wax, which is actually super simple, that is, using a clean and dry fiber towel, gently and repeatedly wiping the dried wax until the surface of the paint is polished.
From the perspective of the resistance of the towel when waxing, I feel that the resistance of this synthetic wax when waxing is still relatively moderate, and it is not very difficult to wipe, so its operability I think is still good.
But the premise is to master the drying time of this wax, if the drying time is too long, the wax will be very difficult to wipe clean.
This was followed by carnauba wax, which I waited for about 20 minutes to dry.
Then I still waxed the towel until the paint was polished, and when I first wiped it, I obviously felt that the towel had little resistance and wiped it very smoothly.
Compared to the synthetic wax when the towel resistance is much smaller, and with a gentle rub, the dry carnauba wax is completely wiped off, which can be said to be very easy.
The slowest to dry is the sealing wax, I waited for 30 minutes without drying, and finally moved to the sun for 15 minutes before drying...
According to my previous waxing experience, the sealing wax dried relatively fast, but this test dried very slowly, because the temperature at the time of the test was only 4 ° C, so this also shows that the drying conditions of the sealing wax have certain requirements for temperature.
I still wax the sealing wax in the same way, but when I rub it for the first time, I can clearly feel that the resistance of the towel is very large, much greater than that of synthetic wax and carnauba wax, and even a large amount of force is used to wipe the wax powder clean.
Conclusion: The fastest drying in winter is synthetic wax, followed by palm wax, and the slowest is seal wax. The easiest to handle is the carnauba wax, followed by synthetic wax, and the most difficult is the sealing wax.
"Repair car paint sun pattern test"
Car paint sun pattern is the most common car paint damage in family cars, generally due to the irregularity of car wash, the varnish surface is scratched by small particles in towels or sponges.
The car wax is a protective layer attached to the varnish layer, which can effectively fill the slight scratches on the surface of the varnish, thus achieving the effect of eliminating the sun pattern.
In the last test, I have already applied 3 models of car wax to the paint surface, so this test directly compares the sun pattern of the car paint before and after waxing.
Carnauba wax:
It is obvious that the sun stripe is almost completely gone, only a little bit that is not very obvious, so the carnauba wax plays an effect of eliminating the sun stripe.
Sealing wax:
There are still obvious sun stripes, and there is not much difference before waxing, so the effect of sealing wax to eliminate sun stripes is not very good.
Synthetic waxes:
It can be said that there is no sun pattern at all, and the car paint is very shiny, so the effect of synthetic wax eliminating sun pattern is very good.
Conclusion: The best effect of eliminating the sun pattern of car paint is synthetic wax, followed by palm wax, and worst is sealing wax.
"Endurance Test"
I applied the 3 waxes to another piece of hood paint, and then used the ordinary car wash method to repeatedly clean the hood to see which car wax lasted longer.
Here we first take a look at the water-casting effect of the paint after the construction of the 3 models of car wax.
The so-called water-sucking effect is the hydrophobic protective layer formed by the car wax on the surface of the car paint, which can make the water condense into small water droplets on the car paint, and quickly flow away, which can effectively avoid the sewage staying in the car paint.
The water-casting effect of these 3 models of car wax is still very good, the water is directly flowing away, and the water droplets standing are also very perfect.
Then I directly used the neutral car wash liquid to scrub the surface of the hood, and when I washed the first and second times and then flushed, the car paint spray effect of the car wax was still there.
However, when I washed the water again after the third wash, I found that the hydrophobic effect on the surface of the synthetic wax paint was not very good, there was an obvious water curtain formation, and after stopping flushing, the water did not completely flow away, and there were many irregular long strips of water parked on the paint.
The hydrophobic effect of the sealing wax and the carnauba wax paint surface is still obvious, no large water curtain is formed, most of the water flows away after stopping flushing, and the standing effect of the water droplets is still there.
Then I washed it a fourth time and then rinsed it with water, and when I flushed, it was obvious that the synthetic wax car paint had completely formed a whole water curtain, so it showed that the hydrophobicity of the synthetic wax paint surface was completely non-existent.
The hydrophobic effect of sealing wax and carnauba wax is still there, and the standing effect of the painted water droplets is also perfect and relatively uniform, which is more unexpected for me, because in general, the long-lasting effect of palm wax is not so good.
In the end, I directly repeatedly washed the waxed car paint three times and then flushed the water, and then the change came out.
The sealing wax does not form a water curtain in some areas when flushing, and the carnauba wax paint completely forms a water curtain when flushing, which means that the sealing wax still has a partial hydrophobic effect, while the carnauba wax has no hydrophobic effect at all.
Conclusion: The most persistent is the sealing wax, followed by palm wax, and the worst persistence is synthetic wax.
"High Temperature Resistance Test"
Because in addition to being washed off, the car wax will also be sunburned in the summer, after all, when the car paint is exposed in the summer, the temperature is as high as fifty or sixty degrees, and the dark car paint can even reach about 70 ° C, so the high temperature resistance of the car wax is very important.
The test is very simple, I use a hot air gun to heat each of the 3 waxes, and then use a temperature gun to measure the temperature when they start to melt, in order to see how good their high temperature resistance is.
The temperature I saw on the temperature gun when the palm wax began to melt was about 70 °C, the sealing wax melted at about 77 °C, and the synthetic wax melted the fastest, and it began to melt at 45 °C.
Conclusion: Sealing wax has the best high temperature resistance effect, followed by palm wax, the worst synthetic wax.
Test Summary:
From the drying time and operation feel, carnauba wax is definitely the most suitable car wax for novices to get started, the operability is very good, and the drying time is also moderate.
Although synthetic wax has good operability, its biggest problem is that the drying time is too fast, which is not very suitable for novices. Not to mention the sealing wax, which is the most suitable for novices.
From the perspective of scratch repair ability, synthetic wax is the first choice, because from the test results, its scratch repair power is very good.
From the perspective of durability, sealing wax is the only choice.
From the perspective of high temperature resistance, sealing wax is most suitable for summer use, after all, its melting point is the highest, can withstand the high temperature of summer, followed by palm wax, its high temperature resistance is also good.
And synthetic wax I think is completely unsuitable for summer, more than forty degrees melted, it is more suitable for winter use.
Finally, let's talk about the brightness of the 3 models of car wax, because the shooting equipment is more crotch pulling... So there is no way to reflect the gloss of wax, and I can only briefly say it.
I personally think the best brightness is carnauba wax, which is the kind of oily light that is particularly suitable for dark car paint, especially black car paint.
The second is synthetic wax, the brightness is also very good, but not as good as carnauba wax.
Sealing wax is the worst brightness, so sealing wax is more suitable for light-colored car paint cars.
