She was once the vice minister of industry in Central and Southern China, her husband was at the level of Zhengguo, but her son was a farmer all his life

In 1928, China's revolutionary martyr Xia Mingzhen was killed by counter-revolutionaries in Chenxian County, Hunan Province, at the age of 22. He was one of the early leaders of the Chinese Communist Party and a staunch revolutionary fighter. His departure has made many people feel extremely sad, and the saddest among them is his wife, Zeng Zhi.

Like Xia Mingzhen, Zeng Zhi is also a party member comrade who has ideals and supports the revolution to save the country. She was born in Yizhang, Hunan province in 1991, and has been educated in emerging ideas ever since. Because of her birth in Xiangmendi, Zeng Zhi did not have to worry about life from an early age, and at the age of 13, Zeng Zhi was admitted to the Hengyang Provincial Girls' Normal School through hard work, where she was influenced by the cultural movement and gradually formed her own ideological system. As a Chinese, Zeng Zhi wants to save the country; as a woman, Zeng Zhi wants to seek equality between men and women. In this way, Zeng Zhi established his own life ideals in his youth and has been fighting for them in the years since.

During his studies at school, Zeng Zhi encountered a difficult problem. That is, although her family is a scholar and attaches great importance to the education of her children, there are still some bad habits, such as arranged marriages. As an excellent young man who had received advanced ideas, Zeng Zhi naturally did not want to marry someone in a vacuum, so after getting this news, she wrote to her mother for the first time, and successfully dissolved the marriage contract with the help of friends. For Zeng Zhi, this is a huge victory in her life and an extremely important step towards an independent woman.

After graduation, Zeng Zhi was arranged by the organization to work in the Organization Department of the Hengyang Prefectural Committee. Here, Zeng Zhi met her first partner, Xia Mingzhen. At that time, Xia Mingzhen was the director of the Organization Department, just happened to be Zeng Zhi's superior, the two were similar in age, and they had similar interests, and they had feelings when they came and went. In 1927, Zeng Zhi married Xia Mingzhen and became pregnant shortly after marriage. But before the child could be born, Xia Mingzhen was killed at an event the following year.

Zeng Zhi was deeply saddened by Xia Mingzhen's death, but she also knew very well that even if she shed tears, Xia Mingzhen would not come back, and there was still much she had to do. After giving birth to the child, Zeng Zhi, in order to ensure the safety of the child, also sent his son to a family surnamed Shi in a nearby village to take care of him because his work was too busy to raise. After this, Zeng Zhi hardly saw her son again, and it was not until after the founding of New China that she had the opportunity to find the child who had been separated from her for many years.

But time changed, and many years later, the child, who was named Shi Laifa, had already regarded his adoptive mother as his own biological mother. There was no affection between him and Zeng Zhi, and perhaps he did not understand why Zeng Zhi had abandoned him in the first place. So after spending some time with Zeng Zhi, Shi Laifa chose to return to the village where he had been living and continue to be a farmer. For Shi Laifa, he was used to such a life and did not want to get any change. Under his insistence, Zeng Zhi had no choice but to respect his choice.

After Xia Mingzhen's death, Zeng Zhi also had two marriages. Her second husband, cai Xiemin, was later killed by a traitor. The third husband, named Tao Zhu, once performed a mission with Zeng Zhi pretending to be a husband and wife. In this process, Zeng Zhi gradually knew and fell in love with Tao Zhu, and accompanied each other through the following decades after marriage. It is worth mentioning that after the founding of New China, Tao Zhu served as a member of the Central Committee of our country and vice premier of the State Council, and later became an official to the level of zhengguo, and like Zeng Zhi, Tao Zhu was also an excellent revolutionary fighter and contributed to the country all his life.

After the founding of New China, Zeng Zhi successively served as vice minister of the Industry Department of the Central and Southern Bureau, secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee, and member of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Province. She was appointed vice minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee in 1977, and has been diligent and conscientious in her work, committed to contributing to the country and the people. In 1983, Zeng Zhi announced his retirement and began a peaceful old age.

Looking back on this life, Zeng Zhi has experienced ups and downs and experienced many separations. On the road of revolution, she gained a lot, lost a lot, and in the end, it was difficult to compare gains and losses. But standing at the end of his life, Zeng Zhi is still worthy of his ideals and the choices he made in his youth. She is a firm and outstanding cadre of our Party, a bright color in the revolution, a hero who does not accept defeat, a wife and a mother.

On June 21, 1998, Zeng Zhi died of illness in Beijing at the age of 88. Her life ended on this day, but her deeds will not be drowned in time. This is Zeng Zhi, a revolutionary lady who deserves our respect.
