The Forbidden City was built by order of Zhu Di, the third emperor of the Ming Dynasty, more than 600 years ago, and was designed by the craftsman Known as "Kuluban" (a native of Xiangshan, Wu County, Jiangsu Province). According to legend, he only needed a little calculation to build a pavilion to make accurate drawings, and after the construction of the building was completed, it was no different from the size of the drawing, and even the emperor had a super high evaluation of him.
The Forbidden City began to be built in 1406 (the fourth year of Yongle), Zhu Di first sent personnel to all parts of the country to mine valuable wood and stone, and then transported to Beijing, only the construction materials transportation and drawing design and other preparations took about 11 years, construction began in 1417, completed in 1420, the construction process took only three years.
Some experts once found that when repairing the floor tiles in an area of the Taihedian Square, the floor tiles of the square were laid with as many as fifteen floors, because the Taihedian Was an important site in the Ming and Qing dynasties, and in order to prevent the Assassins from hiding under the trees, there was not a single tree in the whole square, so many people understood the multi-layered floor tiles as a defensive means to prevent the Assassins from digging tunnels to assassinate the emperor.
In fact, most of the floor tiles of the Forbidden City are only one layer, and the floor tiles are basically rammed earth layers, although the situation of more than a dozen floor tiles does exist, but it is not excluded that it is caused by the grass-roots layer left by the old buildings of the former dynasty.
The reason why the Forbidden City is called "Forbidden City" is because the emperor is the son of the Emperor God, and according to the ancient people's naming of the Heavenly Star Dou, the Palace City of the Son of Heaven should be called "Ziwei City", which also means that the Imperial Palace is the center of the world.
Because the place where the emperor lived was forbidden to enter, it was a "forbidden place" for ordinary people, so there was a name that represented the supremacy of imperial power, "Forbidden City".
