The hero is the brightest astrolabe of a nation and the bravest vanguard of a country. Different eras create different heroes, but all heroes have a very deep patriotic feeling.

The War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression is a historical stage in which every Chinese mentions it, and there is no doubt that this stage is also an era of heroes, who used their flesh and blood to lay down today's great rivers and mountains, but in this era of artillery fire, they did not even leave their own names or photos; Nanyang Xuzihe is one of them.
With the development of current restoration technology, the daughter of the Nanyang martyr Xu Zihe recently received a restored portrait of her father.
After 76 years, "meeting again" with our father in this way also allows us to more clearly remember the hero's face and remember the hero's deeds.
01 Since childhood, I have learned martial arts and practiced Haoran righteousness
Xu Zihe, formerly known as Xu Wenzhong, was born in 1909 to a martial arts family in Nanyang County. Both his grandfather and father were highly respected and well-known martial arts teachers in Nanyang, so Xu Zihe also lived up to the expectations of the public and followed his father to learn martial arts since he was a child.
Although Xu Zihe was young, he was not afraid of cold and heat, insisting on practicing the basic skills every day; working hard, every move taught by his father was carefully pondered and integrated into his own ideas; while practicing a good martial art, he also practiced a magnificent and righteous spirit.
Young and vigorous, blood boiling. When he was a teenager, Xu Zihe encountered robber bandits along the road during the dart transportation process, whether it was related to him or not, every time he would perform heroic battles and fight and run. Soon, at a young age, he had the title of "Nanyang Hero".
As he grew older, Xu Zihe's mind and thoughts continued to mature and develop. When he grew up, he not only had the qualities of chivalrous justice, but also had a deep patriotic feeling.
When he became an adult, he wanted to use his martial arts and ingenuity to help more people, so he threw himself into Feng Yuxiang's army as a soldier, and through tempering, he served as a special agent platoon leader, which also laid the foundation for his subsequent investment in the War of Resistance Against Japan.
02 Patriotic feelings, devoting himself to the great cause of saving the country
In 1937, after the Lugou Bridge Incident, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out. With patriotic feelings, Xu Zihe threw himself into the great cause of saving the country, and together with Comrade Zhang Shulian, he was sent to his hometown of Nanyang to carry out an important task -- mobilizing the anti-Japanese resistance and raising grain.
In order to stimulate the anti-Japanese enthusiasm of the people of Nanyang County and mobilize everyone to take action, they set up a "drama troupe" in the local area to publicize the anti-Japanese resistance through the most acceptable way for everyone, "The Gunshot of Lugou Bridge" and "Put Down Your Whip" are all dramas they rehearsed and created.
Through their mobilization and encouragement in various ways, in Nanyang, they not only quickly raised the grain they needed most, but also enabled more enthusiastic young people to throw themselves into the War of Resistance Against Japan and strengthen the local anti-Japanese forces.
In the spring of 1945, Japan's aggression extended to Nanyang County. The aggressive forces of the Japanese army continued to deepen, and the scope of the war gradually expanded. For a moment, the people fled in a panic, and the people were in pain.
Xu Zihe reacted quickly, and immediately contacted Chen Jinfu, Li Honghe, Xu Wenju, and others, and after their discussion, a local anti-Japanese detachment in Nanyang, the "Wannan Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Group", was established, with Xu Zihe as the leader.
The situation was difficult, the weapons were backward, and this anti-Japanese contingent had only more than a hundred people and more than a hundred guns, but everyone in the team had a strong will to see death as a homecoming and a brave spirit of sacrifice and dedication, and they used their greatest strength to protect the safety of the local people.
03 Surrounded and pursued the Japanese Kou, and finally heroically martyred
In this small place of Nanyang, wars of all sizes also broke out. But no matter what the war, Xu Zihe led their own guerrilla group to the forefront. Every time the front row of the line was indispensable to Xu Zihe's figure.
After each war, Xu Zihe would lead his troops to discuss and summarize, they studied new combat methods, new combat weapons, so that the Japanese army lost one after another on the battlefield of Nanyang, and when they heard "Wannan Anti-Japanese Guerrillas", they were terrified.
On April 14, 1945, through public reports and investigation by the team, Xu Zihe learned that there was a well-equipped Japanese army team of more than 30 people near the Jade Emperor Temple in Nanyang County. Through discussion, it was agreed that the Japanese army could be annihilated and the weapons they needed most were captured.
Before the battle, Xu Zihe arranged the method of warfare, on the one hand, sending people to seek the help of the five company commanders of the Kuomintang Fifty-fifth Army stationed nearby, with them as the main frontal attack; on the other hand, Xu Zihe led the guerrillas to attack from the flank and cooperate with the operation.
Xu Zihe led the guerrillas to the vicinity of the Jade Emperor Temple, but was also discovered by the Japanese forces. Before the assistance of the Fifty-fifth Army could be reached, fierce fighting against the Japanese began. During the siege of the Jade Emperor Temple by the Japanese army, Xu Zi and his left wrist were injured, but they did not care and still threw themselves into battle.
Subsequently, the commander of the Wu Company of the Fifty-fifth Army rushed to the Jade Emperor Temple with his army to support, but due to the advanced combat weapons of the Japanese army and the fierce firepower of the engagement, the Fifty-fifth Army could only play a role in dispersing the firepower of the Japanese army and could not deal a heavy blow to the strength of the Japanese army.
Xu Zihe saw this situation and decided to take a close attack, so he led a small group of people to approach the Jade Emperor Temple, hoping to give a heavy blow to the side of the Japanese army's negligence; but in the process of touching, he was discovered by the Japanese army, so he concentrated his firepower to organize the advance of Xu Zihe and others.
As the Japanese machine guns scanned, the members of the team kept falling. But Xu Zihe could not take care of it, and could only endure the double pain of heart and body, rushed to the side of the Japanese army, and used all his strength to cut down 10 Japanese soldiers, but he was outnumbered, Xu Zihe fell after ten shots in the body.
The news of the encirclement and suppression of the Japanese army spread quickly in Nanyang City, and with the support of large and small teams and the participation of the masses of the people in the battle, the Japanese army of more than 30 people was finally annihilated. But we have also lost Xu Zi and this hero who sacrificed for the country and several martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives.
04 Conclusion
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, countless heroes and heroes sacrificed their lives for the country in exchange for our current stable living environment and created our currently powerful motherland.
Most of the heroes died in heroic battles like Xu Zihe, leaving no photos of them for future generations, and what is more, some martyrs have not been able to leave their names, but no matter what, these heroes and martyrs and their deeds are worth remembering.
Heroes should not be forgotten by us at any time; only by remembering the past and being grateful for the present can we make the lives of our country and people better in the future.
