Among Chiang Kai-shek's concubine generals, Hu Zongnan, known as the "King of the Northwest", was small and popular in the local area from an early age because of his talent and intelligence, and he was full of vigor when he was a teenager, and his maverick behavior was particularly prominent in that traditional era.
Hu Zongnan became Chiang Kai-shek's proud protégé from applying for the Whampoa Military Academy, began to open up the road of political subordination, and later accumulated a lot of experience through actual combat, and was known as the famous "King of the Northwest".
In his career, Hu Zongnan can be described as "smooth sailing" and soaring, but Hu Zongnan is not so smooth in the love field.
Throughout his life, emotions and married life have been repeatedly broken, and he has interpreted "twists and turns" love stories with four women.
By the age of 51, Hu Zongnan, a single widow, finally married Ye Xiazhai, who had been in love with him for many years.
What few people know is that Hu Zongnan's fourth wife, Ye Xiazhai, was Dai Kasa's female secretary.
And the children they gave birth to, what is the end?
I. Hu Zongnan was in love with Ye Xiazhai: Dai Kasa's scheme
Before knowing Ye Xiazhai, Hu Zongnan had been frustrated in the "love field" one after another. After he politely rejected Miss Kong Er, he met the beautiful agent under Dai Kasa.
Ye Xiazhai is 18 years younger than Hu Zongnan, and both are from Zhejiang.
But in fact, Ye Xiazhai is not only Dai Kasa's confidential secretary, but also "plays" the role of Dai Kasa's personal mistress, and Hu Zongnan is also in love with this beautiful agent at first sight, and it is difficult to extricate herself.
After Dai Kasa saw Hu Zongnan's thoughts, every time Hu Zongnan visited, he pushed away from his busy official duties and let Ye Xiazhai "accompany the attendant" alone.
Over time, Hu Zongnan was completely caught in the "love network" under Dai Kasabu.
When the time came, under the plot of Dai Kasa, Ye Xiazhai was sent to the United States to study.
In order to be able to maintain contact with Ye Xiazhai continuously, Hu Zongnan could only obey Dai Kasa's orders to do things for him.
In this way, the two lived separately in China and the United States, and for seven years, they maintained close contact with each other in letters and expressed their love to each other.
In 1944, Ye Xiazhai returned to China and, after the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, went to teach at a university in Nanjing, where he waited for Hu Zongnan.
During these seven years, Hu Zongnan's refusal to marry has also caused a lot of discussion, and there are even rumors that Hu Zongnan has an affair with a female doctor.
After the rumor reached Ye Xiazhai's ears, the relationship between the two was in crisis.
At that time, Dai Kasa had already died in an accidental plane crash, and Chiang Kai-shek had already approved Hu Zongnan's marriage, and the marriage between the two had no obstacles.
In March 1947, after Hu Zongnan captured Yan'an, Chiang Kai-shek was overjoyed and awarded him the Order of the Grand Duke of the Second Class.
Taking advantage of the promotion on his career path, Hu Zongnan immediately decided to get married and do a happy event
This year, Hu Zongnan was 52 years old, and he finally became a groom and married his bride Ye Xiazhai.
In 1949, Chiang Kai-shek was defeated and retired to Taiwan, and Hu Zongnan, as an important member of Chiang Kai-shek's concubine lineage, also followed Chiang Kai-shek's family to live in Taiwan.
Ye Xiazhai has a high degree of education and rich experience, and has continuously published questions in Taiwan's newspapers and periodicals, written a lot of books, and was once a well-known writer in Taiwan.
After the two married, Ye Xiazhai gave birth to two boys and a girl, and the children were also smart and lively, eager to learn.
Even after this, Hu Zongnan's career path was not very smooth, but their family's life in Taiwan was very peaceful and happy.
Second, the eldest son Hu is true
Hu Zongnan's health has always been very good, almost never sick, until 1961, when the then 65-year-old Hu Zongnan suddenly felt unwell and coughed.
After going to the hospital for examination, the doctor diagnosed that Hu Zongnan had symptoms such as hypertension and diabetes, and instructed him to pay attention to dieting and avoid meat and sugar.
Hu Zongnan fought all his life, knew the importance of the body, heeded the advice of the doctor, and lived only by eating vegetables and fruits every day, and after a few months, Hu Zongnan became more and more emaciated.
In the winter of that year, the "Taiwan Strategic Advisory Committee" held a meeting on the fourth floor of the Jieshou Hall in Taipei, and Hu Zongnan was also invited.
But after Hu Zongnan arrived, he climbed up the stairs, but after climbing to the second floor, he was breathless and could no longer go up, so he could only temporarily find someone to take a leave of absence for him and go home by himself.
As a soldier, Hu Zongnan has a very tough and strong personality, and he has no voice about the abnormalities in his body, nor does he go to the hospital for further examination, thinking that it is good to take a rest.
But it was this "stronger" that made him lose the best treatment time and opportunity.
Chinese New Year's Eve Night in 1961 became the last festival that Hu Zongnan spent with his wife and children.
On the third day of the first lunar month, Hu Zongnan's body could no longer hold on and was sent to the hospital.
This alarmed many figures in Taiwan's political circles, and high-ranking Kuomintang officials came to visit one after another, and even Chiang Kai-shek personally came to visit.
After a period of treatment, Hu Zongnan's physical recovery is very optimistic.
In March 1962, Hu Zongnan's spirit had always been very good, and he chatted with Ye Xiazhai for a while before going to bed.
At more than three o'clock in the morning, Hu Zongnan suddenly screamed several times, and then fell unconscious, and the doctor hurriedly began to rescue.
By the time Ye Xiazhai and the children arrived at the hospital, Hu Zongnan was unconscious, and unfortunately, Hu Zongnan was unable to leave a single word in the end.
After Hu Zongnan's death, he left Ye Xiazhai and three children, two men and one woman.
Among them, the eldest son, Hu Weizhen, was still in the war years when he was born, and Ye Xiazhai once said with emotion:
"For our family, he is most looking forward to coming home and reuniting. Since we got married, we have been together for less than a month, and Guang'er (Hu Weizhen) has only seen two sides of his father. ”
Around 1949-1950, after Hu Zongnan ran for Chiang Kai-shek, he was regarded as "after helping Mr. Chiang Kai-shek break".
Hu Weizhen was also once carried by Chiang Ching-kuo and met Chiang Kai-shek and Mr. Ju Zheng.
At that time, Hu Weizhen was only two years old, and afterwards, Hu Zongnan also wrote a letter to send home:
"Guang'er first saw the leader, had a generous attitude, and responded appropriately, which was particularly gratifying."
On April 4, 1951, the Hu family welcomed their second son, Hu Weishan, and Hu Zongnan often listened to his younger son singing while making his younger son laugh, and their family life became more interesting and very happy.
According to Hu Weizhen's recollection:
"In 1953, my father returned to school for further study, and my little sister Meimei was 7 months old, and although my father's career was unsuccessful, my children could also talk about masturbating."
In Hu Weizhen's memory, the most impressive thing is that Hu Zongnan once had a conversation with him.
Hu Zongnan asked him what he wanted to do in the future, and Hu Weizhen, who was only in his early 10s at the time, replied seriously: "I want to be like you, a soldier."
Hu Zongnan told his son:
"I want you to be a big husband in the future!"
At that time, Hu Weizhen did not know what a big husband was, and only listened to his father:
"The people who really contribute to people are big husbands, like big scientists, big engineers, and big doctors."
In the year of Hu Zongnan's death, Hu Weizhen was only 14 years old, and he and his younger siblings always followed their father's teachings.
Today, the eldest son, Hu Weizhen, has a wonderful political resume.
He made his debut in the political circles of the Taiwan authorities very early, and in the early 1980s, Hu Weizhen was already the head of the business team in charge of major affairs.
Hu Weizhen's career in the United States was not smooth until 1991, when Hu Weizhen was transferred back to the Taiwan authorities, which was quite highly regarded.
His father, Hu Zongnan,000, had many people serving in Taiwan's political circles, and Hu Weizhen, as a "newcomer" transferred from the outside world, was not excluded and gradually began to enter the core circle of Taiwan's politics.
Third, the second son Hu is good
Unlike his elder brother, who went to Taiwanese politics, the second son, Hu Weishan, has been active in the field of education for a long time and is a doctor of financial management at the University of Oklahoma.
After graduation, Hu Weishan successively served as deputy manager of Huaqiao Property & Casualty Insurance Company and chief of the financial department of Taipower Corporation, and then transferred to the field of academic research, serving as vice president and professor of the Department of Finance and Finance at Chung Yuan University in Taiwan.
In an interview with the Southern Metropolis Newspaper, Hu Weishan recalled the influence of his father, who was rare in his own upbringing.
As a teenager, Hu Weishan traveled to the United States alone to study, and once he met a Zhejiang man who sent his daughter to school at church.
After hearing that Hu Weishan was Chinese and surnamed Hu, he asked him:
"Where are you from?"
"I am a Filial Piety",
As soon as Hu Weishan's voice fell, the other party grabbed him by the collar and picked him up and asked:
"Is Hu Zongnan your grandfather?"
He heard Hu Weishan say, "No," and the other party let him go.
After growing up, Hu Weishan often mentioned his father, who was always smiling.
"If my father hadn't come to Taiwan, he wouldn't have me."
During his tenure as vice principal, Hu Weishan showed the stamps he collected to his classmates when he was teaching investment classes at the school
"When I was in elementary school, I scored three hundred points before my father gave me a stamp as a prize, and that's how my hobby of collecting stamps came about."
For his father, Hu Weishan was always respectful and loved.
Fourth, daughter Hu Weimei
Hu Zongnan's youngest daughter, Hu Weimei, was only 9 years old at the time of his death.
Because the whole process of growing up was most influenced by her mother, her memory of her father was not very clear.
Hu Weimei graduated from the Library Department of Fu Jen University in Taiwan, and later studied for a master's degree in education at the University of Wisconsin, and has served as the third president of the Northern California Chinese Writers Association, a lecturer in the Department of Adolescent and Child Welfare at the American Culture University, the director of the Expatriate Foreign Student, the editor of a women's magazine, and the president of the Chinese School.
Hu Weimei has written books and is now working as a real estate investment consultant in Beijing.
Hu Zongnan and Ye Xiazhai's three children are now adults.
The growth environment of Hu Zongnan and Ye Xiazhai's three children was not good, and even in their entire growth period, they did not enjoy the complete love of their parents, nor did they enjoy the "dividends" brought by their parents in terms of material conditions.
They are not "stubborn" to follow the path of their parents, but they are more or less influenced by their parents' experiences and have a place to show their skills in the fields of politics, education and writing.
