As the second batch of sponge city pilot cities in China, Qingyang City has set a pilot benchmark for sponge city construction. In the past five years, a total of 6.3 billion yuan has been invested to implement 256 projects of "one axis, two hearts, three belts, five lakes, three ditches and five areas", effectively reducing soil erosion, curbing the shrinkage of the surface, and exploring replicable experience for the construction of sponge cities in the western collapsible loess area.
