Looking at the "Anti-Japanese War Veterans" series of photographic works carefully taken by Jiangsu photographer Wang Yuhua, I was deeply shocked. Under the black and white shadow adjustment, 70 anti-war veterans, one by one, like sculptures cast in iron and bronze, are dignified and flexible, and the ordinary shows the great shore!

I am lucky - Ouyang Zhongxin, male, born in 1928, from Xigang, Jintan, Jiangsu Province. In July 1944, he joined the New Fourth Army and worked as a hygienist at the headquarters of Chen Yi's troops. In Liyang, a fierce battle was waged against the Japanese devils. The opportunities for us to meet were few and far between, more than that, but that didn't affect the artistic discussions between us. On the other end of the phone, the most frequently heard was his opinion on how to express, portray, and excavate the connotation of the image and the emotions of the characters. He always pursues news works that "everyone has in the eyes and nothing in every mirror", rather than news products, and often receives honors: "Fishermen Celebrate the 15th National Congress" filmed in 1997 was prominently published in the East China News of "People's Daily", "From Athens to Beijing" in 2008 - a long scroll of engraved paper for the Olympics was published in the overseas edition of "People's Daily", and his works such as "Special Newspaper Kiosks" and "Destroying Kilns and Returning fields" were also published by People's Daily, "Sending Sons to Join the Army" and "Sending Children to Join the Army" Won the 24th National Photography Art Exhibition Documentary Outstanding Works... As a grassroots photographer, his efforts confirm a famous saying: "Heroes do not ask for provenance".

I also often wonder, why does Yuhua always maintain passion? His article "The Lens Always Bears the "Responsibility and Mission"" let me find the answer: "Whether as a member of the Jintan CPPCC Committee or a photographer, I shoulder a great responsibility and a glorious mission. He looks for "hot spots" in the activities of building a harmonious society; "difficult points" in the process of economic and social development; and "bright spots" in practicing the core values of socialism. He silently pursues the news masterpiece of "shadow is not amazing", praises positive energy, and plays the strongest sound.

One year, when I met Yuhua in Changzhou, I learned that he had paid attention to the veterans of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression with unimaginable efforts for more than 300 days and nights in the past. He said: "The closer I get to these veterans, the more fascinated I am by their personality and realm, whether they are poor or rich, whether they are healthy or sick, they seem to have made an appointment, they are chanting 'We are lucky, too many comrades-in-arms have fallen', the high wind and bright festival of 'selflessness in the heart of the world', the kind of spiritual realm without complaint and no regrets, people are awe-struck!" ”

He survived the Battle of Tangma and later participated in the War of Liberation and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and was awarded the first class merit once and the third class merit 4 times. In order to be able to shoot the inherent wind and bones in the bones of these ordinary and respectable old people of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Wang Yuhua intended to write first, think well and communicate well, and with full enthusiasm and decades of accumulated skills, he quickly let the old people enter the "drama" and "god", and wholeheartedly "use the most ordinary characters to build the most magnificent monuments." The historical value of Wang Yuhua's "Anti-Japanese War Veterans" series of photographic works has far exceeded its artistic value, and it truly rescues an unforgettable history.
