Platinum Studio announced the personnel change on its official website today (January 13), and former President Kenichi Sato left at the end of December 2021, and Vice President Atsushi Inaba will succeed him as president. Kenichi Sato will assist the company in its further development as a studio consultant.
Kenichi Sato, the former president, said that since he took over the post of president of Platinum Studios from Tatsuya Miwa in April 2016, he has been working on the development of games with the idea of "trying to spread a smile to people around the world". After the studio cooperated with Tencent in December 2019, it further strengthened the game's development capabilities, and Tokyo set up a development base "Platinum Game TOKYO" to start developing the company's own IP, which is also the team's long-cherished wish.

Kenichi Sato said that in order to create a "new game" that only Platinum Studios can do, the team must accelerate forward. In order to accomplish this goal, he felt that handing over the position of president to Inaba Atsushi was the best way to do it.
Platinum Studio was founded in February 2006. It is a company that produces software for home video game consoles by the merger of SEEDS founded by Shinji Mikami (retired), Hideki Kamiya, and Atsushi Inaba, and ODD established by Tatsuya Miwa. It has games such as the Angel Hunter Witch series, Metal Gear Solid: Revenge, Fantastic 101, Neil: Mechanical Age, and Chains of the Otherworld.
